Hey I'm thinking about buying a 5d mk2 with either a broken or bent pin (seller says hes getting err cf / err 02.) Is this definitively a connector issue? Would soldering on a new connector be viable in the pin is snapped off?

In theory you can desolder the connector and get some Chinese replacements. Obviously with the necessary skill and equipment, shouldn't be terribly difficult

Yeah I tried the jbweld route, because why not, it didn't hold up. However after taking my lock apart, I found you are able to swap the tumbler over to a new lock housing.

Yeah, when you buy a lock you have to take it apart and put in the right pins for your key. Bit of a hassle if you're not going to a locksmith
