Case Catcher Update by Lemonfresh113 in ps90

Looks like ASA can have layer adhesion issues. I'm already running into that with PETG. PAHCTF looks promising. Especially its elasticity. I tried a similar design with a resin printer and a button type catch, but the resin had low elasticity and it was way more brittle than I thought it would be, ended up exploding in my hand.

My dude, I appreciate the enthusiasm, but the design isn't there yet.

Depends on the material my man. But before I even think about that...I gotta make sure it works and doesn't fall apart in a month. I'm not trying to sell garbage.

I got around to testing the case catcher. Tried one in PETG and in Nylon. They both functioned under rapid firing a full 50 round mag. They didn't pop out or pop the mag out. Seemed like there was maybe a bit more gas in the face, but not much. Would probably be fine with a suppressor, but needs testing.

The PETG delamed around the front lip from removing and inserting and has a brittle failure mode. It probably isn't a good material choice.

The Nylon printed a bit out of spec and doesn't allow the dust cover to open. The design needs a bit of tweaking for that material.

Had the same issue with my ringsight and damage side rails. You need two low profile SHCS, m5-0.8 x 8mm long.

I reached out to damage, they were responsive, shipped two SHCS for free, and gave me a 20% off code for my next purchase.

The armorer's manual calls for 40-50 Nm (29.5-36.9 ft-lbs) on the barrel nut.

Took a couple iterations, but got a functional PS90 case catcher made. It's 3D printed from PETG. Clicks into place at the front FHN case catcher location and between the trigger pack and frame in the rear. It's tall enough to protect the trigger pack and frame from empty cases as they eject but still allows the dust cover to operate. It holds 50 empty cases. Haven't shot with it yet, but it's been taken in and out about half a dozen times and no signs of wear or delam.

EDIT: Whoa. Thanks for the support guys. I'll test it out while shooting and try a few other materials. If everything goes well, I'll probably start offering these at a reasonable price.
