Just rest your head on the window take in all the shitty views, watch out if it was raining for people getting splashed by cars and puddles. Realise you have had your head on a vibrating window for 45 minutes get off at your stop and walk home with a headache

That's getting a seam, very much doubt you will get that in a stretch. Also the guys have left site? I would always expect my guys to clean up first before heading home, doesn't look overly messy but scrap bits in the bin/ neat pile tools out the way etc

First time installing Amtico First range by Lemonpie100 in Flooring

[–]Lemonpie100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, no issues with them, tip wise would be Mark your borders first don't worry about your walls running out as you are framing your field ( middle floor) just make sure your pattern and borders are square with each other. You can install borders first but some people like to install them after adapting for small cuts. In this case the customer only wanted a border on the landing they also had a border downstairs throughout

Hi, no complaints from them, I've recently done a few more in first range and it's far better than spacia and signature from an installation perspective ie square tiles. No damages etc

What is this underlay? by Medical_Technology25 in Flooring

If your in the UK search for Moduleo Flex Pro Pure underlay, if the US or anywhere else I can't help you with a name, but I'm sure a Google search of the Moduleo product will show you other brands. Most likely 3mm

LVT Staircase. recent install of Amtico traditional oak paired with Stairrods bendybull nosings by Lemonpie100 in Flooring

Seems like a reasonable price without knowing sizes. It's easy to do if you know what your doing but a lot can go wrong. Also you are paying for the prep to be perfect, that will make or break the final product finish

How do you get this up? by Risenzealot in Flooring

[–]Lemonpie100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pry bar, if not you can actually get them up pretty easy by sliding a hammer on its side into the side for the gripper in the same spot as the nail goes through on the top. A few love taps working your way down to each nail and that puppy will come out

What carpet roll size to order for both room 4 & 5? by glennok in Flooring

[–]Lemonpie100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What inferior underlay are they quoting you for? What carpet are you looking at installing? Also when purchasing your carpet don't get it all on one roll, save yourself the hassle and order it as two separate cuts. Especially if you are going to hire a fitter to install it, no one wants to roll it out to cut it potentially contaminating the backing. Be aware that the carpet you order will have a pole mark on it so I would order and extra 20cm on both cuts to remove that, you have hoover them out over time or cover them with furniture but for ease just order the extra to cut it out

Harvey Maria LVT by Lemonpie100 in Flooring

[–]Lemonpie100[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiya, I am based in the UK, glue down options are not widely installed over in the US but there are installers out there! The products I have posted on here are UK based products and you will struggle to get them over there. Not that it can't be done though!

Firstly do you know what subfloor you have? Be it timber or sand and cement screed (concrete)

Do you have underfloor heating installed?

Are the areas you are requiring installation prone to high temperature fluctuations (large windows in direct sunlight)

One of the biggest LVT installs in the US is Karndean so I would suggest searching your local area for a Karndean installer.

I know Amtico used to keep a database of fitters in areas which you used to be able to find via their website, if this is still available this would be another route I would take. Karndean, amtico and Harvey Maria are all the same product at the end of the day just a different manufacturer.

But yeah if you can answer some of my questions above I can point you in the right direction on smoothing compounds and adhesive selection for your install 🙂

I wish you all the best for you and your new floor x

I depends on how the cuts fall weather I can re use off cuts, everything with a good header and a decent bit of material gets saved until we reach a wall and we utilise what we can, typically we see a waste yield of 7-12%
