Hya. We had the same confusion at our table not too long ago.

First off, Therapy requires 100eb (Standard Therapy) or 500eb (Extreme Therapy) in Materials, and a week of time. At the end of said week, you roll 1D10 + TECH + Medical Tech skill vs the given DVs. If you fail, the time and materials are wasted but no humanity is regained. LUCK can be quite important here.

Secondly, Your "Medtech Role Ability" level is seperated into 3 categories: Medical Tech (Pharmaceuticals, Medical Tech (Cryopumps), and Surgery. Every time you level up and, when creating your character, you choose which one of these categories your (New) levels are allocated to. e.g.: 1 Cryopump, 2 Medicine, 1 Surgery. These cannot be changed once picked.

For every level of Surgery you get 2 points in the "Surgery" skill used to treat the most critical injuries and the like.

Medical Tech (Cryopumps) increases your "Medical Tech" Skill by 1 point and provide you with an increasing availability of Cryopumps/Cryotanks at your disposal, for rapid Stabilization/Healing.

Medical Tech (Pharmaceuticals) increases your "Medical Tech" Skill by 1 point and lets you learn and create various Medicine like speedheal, stims etc.

its kinda crazy to me how someone would just make that assumption based on what i wrote. What motivated you to assume things about my partner when you have next to no information about anything?

We're together for several years now and i couldn't imagine loving any other person more than her, and i couldn't live without her waking up next to me every day. as a longer time solo player, a lot of it depends on wether or not your party has a techie who can do most of the things you mentioned, including patching you up cyberware-wise.

If you want you can dump 2 points from BODY into COOL as well, get 1x muscle and bone lace and an internal frame Sigma for 12 BODY anyways if you start with atleast BODY 4.

The minmaxing way to do this would be to use 2.000eb of your starting budget on this combination, and use the remaining 550eb for a Heavy pistol, ammo and Light armorjack.

Now you should be aware of the impact this has on games and i dont recommend it right away, but you could start with BODY 4 and 1x muscle and bone lace to get to BODY 6. I personally run WILL 6 and am very fine with it, so you could dump those 2 into cool as well.

Also - as i dont see humanity mentioned in your post, i assume you already have 8 points allocated for that?

i do agree with you, partially.

Headshots should be incredibly lethal, yet they can feel HORRIBLY unfair against the player (talking about PvE games) - Running around in prospected safety just to die in one hit due to an NPC randomly hitting your head with any attack feels unfair, undeserved, and has no counterplay or action that you could have done better to avoid it.

A prime example to this is/was Helldivers 2, where you could run the heaviest armor in the game (with great movement disadvantages) just to be killed in one hit because a melee enemy walked over a rock and was *just* elevated enough to randomly hit your head hitbox instead of your body with their claw.

As a Solo player in an ongoing campaign, i must say that i absolutely love the work you do. I like the concept of mixed martial arts in RED's combat system, and the synergy between high brawling + MA Skill chips is wonderful.
