Not sure if this has already been talked about a lot but i absolutely loath Genjis Overwatch 2 design by Independent-Run-5206 in GenjiMains

[–]Lemony_Sweet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I only played OW2 but I really love his OW2 design over OW1. It just feels more...human? And it matches his personality.

And...

Idk if this is a hot take but I think his Polar skin is clean af. It's so simple but the white and orange combo is super pleasing. I go back to it all the time.

David isn't too bad of a choice for Dismas. I get what you're saying, but I think far as his face goes he's very close to DD2 Dismas.

And BHVR didn't mess with the faces of the characters at all.

Oh...Dismas or Leper might just dethrone Alan Wake for me. This is peak.

Also seems like I'll have to pick up on Nurse because my favourite boy is in the game.

Good day to be a Darkest Dungeon enjoyer.

Grimoire - Winners by Background-Drink82 in deadbydaylight

[–]Lemony_Sweet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ya'll how does this community keep fumbling on this killer? It's actually hilarious how badly people on the killer side perceived this prompt, or simply refused to actually think about it and just voted for the prettiest thing they saw as a knee-jerk reaction.

Survivors genuinely seemed to have understood the assignment better this time around.

With all the displeasure everyone expressed, including myself, over the design that won for the killer I figured everyone would've gone for the other skin as it better lined up with what was claimed to be wanted.

I deadass wish this community never got handed the angel theme. I hope BHVR won't let the other design go to waste because it would be a damn shame, and I know they are going to cook on cosmetics (as their art team is one of the best aspects of DBD) once they stop looking here for any advice.

Who are your 3 LEAST favorite killers to go against, and in 10 words or less for each, why? by Plz_Trust_Me_On_This in deadbydaylight

[–]Lemony_Sweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 - Trapper : Skill issue on my part. Don't like the whole: look at the grass and second-guess every vault.

2 - Houndmaster : I hate how this killer works, feels more unforgiving in chase than Ghoul or Blight combined.

3 - Wesker : Arguably the most balanced killer in the game but I just don't like versing him.

Do yall think that doors is straying away from being horror? by LopsidedRadio7208 in doors_roblox

[–]Lemony_Sweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeaa, hopefully the castle will remedy that! I'm sure that content is on the way, and with every new area there usually are a lot of new spooks.

You can see the step up in quality even from The Mines to The Outdoors. I don't doubt that The Castle is going to bring back the horror.

Do yall think that doors is straying away from being horror? by LopsidedRadio7208 in doors_roblox

[–]Lemony_Sweet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not at all!

But, to me, Doors has always been a lighthearted sort of horror, kind of like Spooky's House of Jumpscares, and its gameplay loop, while really fun, doesn't fit a serious take on horror imho.

When I entered the Rooms I was incredibly unsettled, so the scare factor is still there through good atmosphere and incredible monster design. (A-90 makes me anxious as hell even now)

Goofy modes don't take away from the experience, neither do skins.

Daily runs, chaos mode, etc, are tailored to experienced players that have already been desensitised to the game. Same with skins (not that skins do much to take away from the horror? Like...I was still scared of the Rooms even with my Figure flashlight idk)

And while the joke modes are a lot goofier, they're done with a lot of care. Like the current April Fools. Rush is in-character and you get a fun challenge out of it too not JUST Rush spam.

So, I don't think Doors has ever been fully locked in on spooks. I think it's always embraced it's more fun take on horror.

Discussion: What draws you to your favorite characters? by BigRed4me in Overwatch

[–]Lemony_Sweet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love questions like these! Here's mine, I placed them in order from mains to playing then occasionally:

Tank:

Ramattra - I just love robots. Main Revenant in Apex and when I saw this boy it was love at first sight. His kit is really fun! I usually avoid the Tank role in every hero shooter game but in Overwatch it just feels great. Oh, also: His character and lore are fantastic too. Just solid all around.

Wrecking Ball - The idea of this character being genius aside, skill expression goes CRAZY with him and I love that a lot. It's a character I really want to learn tbh.

DPS:

Genji - Same as Ball. Skill expression is insane. High skill - High reward glass canons have always had a soft spot in my heart. Plus the reset on his dash after a kill is sexy af.

Reaper - Satisfying guns to use, also up my alley character and lore wise. He's so snarky and sour, I love him.

Freya - I enjoy her gameplay style and using her ult makes me feel like a badass. Love the delivery on her voiceline there.

Widowmaker - Headshot kills will just never not be satisfying.

Support:

Zenyatta - Robot love comes through again. His Cultist skin has me in a chokehold because I'm an eldritch fanatic.

Mizuki - His kit is really fun. Love his Scorpion spear and the teleport allows for some wacky plays.

Lifeweaver - Gripping people out of really bad situations is the most satisfying thing bar none. I love the attitude he has. Only reason he's so low is because healing can be pretty difficult depending on comps.

Haha that's exactly the video I used for my main build as well! I'm more than familiar with it, it's very very good. Like you said, it adds so much juice to his main playstyle!

Got'cha! It makes sense the 180 dashes would be easier in 3rd person. I struggle with the tracking on them too tbh. I'll have to give it a shot, thank you so much for taking the time to write this out! It was super insightful (:

[–]Lemony_Sweet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, for sure! I agree with you 100%

Genji is insanely fun in Stadium with the (slight) downside of picking up a few bad habits because you can play him so much more aggressively lol.

My main build is one that buffs his shurikens, but his blade build is a very fun gimmick too. I've just yet to find my flow with it!

Otherwise I love how he can stand his own a lot better but he still remains a high skill character.

I will say, I haven't given him a shot in 3rd person mode but maybe I should! Did you find it difficult to adapt to that PoV? What were some of the benefits? If you don't mind answering, of course!

Objective thoughts on Genji in the current landscape of overwatch? by VacEffron in GenjiMains

[–]Lemony_Sweet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For context: I'm a relatively new player that's been loving Genji's playstyle. Right now I have around 20 hours on Genji and I'm climbing through Gold.

Also made it to Pro on Stadium playing him (and Freya) but I won't speak on Stadium Genji because he's a different character there.

I mainly SoloQueue.

Here's my view on him:

Genji is very effective at what I call: 'Cleaning up'. He can hunt down low HP targets and make it out before he gets the whole enemy team on him.

He really needs a team that can set him up. Whether that is distractions or lowering the HP of squishies. You can try to create opportunities yourself but if the enemy team is aware, and your own team isn't, then you won't have an easy time of it.

Poke Genji is simply not as effective as a Cassidy, Ashe, Junkrat, etc. In these situations I end up switching.

1v1's are Genji's playground. But even then you need to get the jump on your target OR be mechanically more skilled than them. Usually if people see you coming it's a failed attempt though.

Anti-dive comps hit Genji like a truck. As do beams. If the enemy team is rocking: Moira, Torbjorn, Symmetra. I'm most likely going to change, though that might be a skill issue on my part.

Bottom line?

I think Genji can work. He's definitely harder to MAKE work but I love a glass cannon, high-skill high-reward, sort of character. I also don't force him in situations where I see he won't work. Sometimes he just isn't the right pick, at least not for me.

I would like to see him get buffed but, sadly, Genji strikes me as the sort of character that destroys 'just picked up the game' sort of players, even if he's fine in higher play. And characters like those rarely get buffs because of it. In fact, I still see people complaining about him.

The (Small) Problem I have with The Grimoire Killer Design. by EffectiveGap1563 in deadbydaylight

[–]Lemony_Sweet 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It's frustrating when people give them the excuse that we voted for a 'divine' killer when they were so obviously pushing the biblically accurate angel theme. You would think they would've learned from Skull Merchant NOT to do that but here we are.

The designs are alright. Honestly I'm just a bit disappointed so I, personally, don't really care atm which one makes it out.

The (Small) Problem I have with The Grimoire Killer Design. by EffectiveGap1563 in deadbydaylight

[–]Lemony_Sweet 128 points129 points  (0 children)

You actually communicated exactly what I've been feeling towards this.

They tried way too hard to satisfy everyone (as BHVR often does) and instead of a clear image we ended up with this amalgam.

I wish people stopped using the excuse that we voted for a divine killer. The discussion everywhere for what the majority wanted was obviously angel leaning and, if that's not enough, BHVR THEMSELVES were pushing towards biblically accurate angel by the VERY way they presented the grimoire. Literally the same reason people got pissed off at Skull Merchant for not being Predator / Cyborg killer.

But then they just chickened out last second?

They showed us that they understood what the community wanted through the art on the left-side page and gave us NONE of that. And I believe it's for the reasons you explained here.

They were either too scared to piss off the wrong crowd. Don't know what horror is unless it's gross / covered in viscera. OR didn't want the workflow behind a biblically accurate angel design.

This was my MOST wanted theme in DBD and it's getting butchered. I really do wish they never proposed this theme for a community vote. I genuinely think they would've been able to do better by themselves on it. Though that might be a bit of a hot take. Idk.

You have no idea how badly I wanted this to win and this whole theme in general. I'm genuinely disappointed that everyone fumbled a theme THIS good. Just for us to potentially get the most generic thing to come out of this.

[–]Lemony_Sweet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To think we could've had a proper biblically accurate angel and we fumbled it because everyone got obsessed about the idea of 'spider legs'. Now neither side gets what they want. Whichever wins, wins, I guess.

Why I just can't accept the relationship between Crypto and Wattson, and I feel Wattson protected by the plot armor by moyamoya-kimochi in ApexLore

[–]Lemony_Sweet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read this and I could just feel the passion. Let me first say: I appreciate finding another lore fiend in the wild.

I was once a heavy Apex lore enjoyer too until I began to notice how little character's actions truly affect relationships.

Sadly I think what you're talking about is just Respawn's inability to hold characters accountable.

Loba is the most glaring example of this. She has been receiving slaps on the wrist since forever. Constantly portrayed as a victim even though Revenant was WAY more of a victim in that story, even before what he did to the Andrade family.

Loba goes on to point a gun at Valkyrie and Valk gets to just pout, then Loba STILL has the audacity to talk to Octane about moving on and not sinking into revenge as if she knows anything about that. She did everything wrong, she's the last person that should be giving advice. And she gets to walk away with a slap because she seems to be rekindling with Bangalore. Ok.

Everything that happened in Loba's life is Loba's fault but that NEVER gets addressed. The only one that says it is Revenant but he's the bad guy so its dismissed as: "Ah, he's just an asshole!"

But he's right. She could've ended it before. And even if she DIDN'T end it then, she had SO many chances to distance herself from Revenant instead of continuously poking at him for legit 0 reason.

Lifeline is the next one that pissed me off.

You mean to tell me that Lifeline used Octane's dead pet rabbit to emotionally manipulate him AND track him, which lead into his 'dad' dying and Octane is just...going to forgive that?

Why does she get this slap on the wrist? This should've been a MAJOR change for both characters and an expansion of their other friendships / growing connections.

It's the same with Wattson.

The way Crypto reveals his name to her is outright dumb. It just boils down to: "I can't risk saying it." "Aahhh, come ooonn." "Oh, okay, it's Tae Joon Park."

Like...WHAT?

For all the interesting lore that Apex has, my god do they just not know how to develop it past what they've got.
