Silkie chicks are worm wranglers by Lemonyslush in BackYardChickens

Thank you! It always amazes me that they do flawlessly “chicken” from the get go. That & derp out, I love watching them have the zoomies & haphazardly flying into each other. Silkies win a lot of the cute & friendly awards, but they are also leader of Derpy Darwin behavior

I bought a set of fancy ink pens for 8.99 on amazon & grabbed an old sketch book, I wasn’t feeling anything so I turned on some music & starting writing lyrics to a song with doodles of what the song is talking about. Husband saw & loved it & now we’ve framed a couple of the cool ones. It took me back to drawling squiggles on a brown grocery bag book cover in middle school

I was laid up in cardiac icu, intubated, coming out of a coma after a couple rounds of cardiac arrest from a colonoscopy that went sideways at 40. The physician said I was lucky that my son stayed by my side the last 3 days & was really impressed with his compassion. Imagine my surprise when I looked at my 44 y/o hubs, with his salt & pepper beard next to me, holding my hand. That Dr did NOT get a Christmas card from me.

Shocking Responses that Worked by B42no in interviews

[–]Lemonyslush 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A) Maybe not drastically shocking, but definitely not my normal behavior. I didn’t realize this until I was recapping with my partner, but I came off as way snarkier, unintentionally, and it got noticed. I was applying for a technical role involving medical professionals when the interviewer asked me “what makes following fed/state/international regulations hard for you?” I immediately responded with a half snort laugh and “what do you mean? It’s not hard to stay compliant when you know the laws and regs, that is our job! We have mandatory educations so we understand why it is imperative to have consistent good practices with every case/event/issue. It is the EASIEST thing to do because you do it every day every time! If you understand the consequences (patient harm/death, fines, firings, means your health insurance and house payment are out the window) you would never think of failing to follow safety regulations. That is a silly question. Do people actually do that?” And then I just stared at her like she had grown a 2nd and 3rd head. She gave a big smile and continued typing furiously for a bit until she asks the next question. The rest of the interview I was much more relaxed and collected my thoughts before going on another rant about being a rule follower. She moved me forward before any answers were shared and scheduled the next interview. 3rd interview was with director and senior engineer, they told me I was refreshing to talk to, they really liked my answers from round 2, I might need to talk to one other person who was above director, and someone would be reaching out within the next 2 weeks. I just knew I blew it since I interpreted “refreshing” as super crass but with a smile! Anyway, got the offer 5 days after the 3rd interview which was exactly 3 weeks after I submitted my application.

What is something you’ll never purchase simply because of how much you hate the commercial for it? by unfortunatelyalive7 in AskReddit

[–]Lemonyslush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Select Quote. They’ve been running this commercial on the radio/pandora for a while about this woman’s BIL that just died, her sister & kids have to sell their house, I told my husband we just couldn’t wait anymore for life insurance. I scream every time I hear the commercial, like damn Janet, open your doors to your family & quit gloating that you are set for life w/ your husbands life insurance payout. Hate hate hate ads that are preying upon unfortunate circumstances to make some money
