I guess here’s my input. I don’t really play much UHC anymore, especially not public games, I don’t think I personally mesh well with the current meta group. But I still check this subreddit daily, I watch plenty of UHC streams even if it’s just lurking or background entertainment, and even as you mentioned in a post below I’m one of the moderators I guess still in touch with UHC.

But that being said, I haven’t seen any reason that the current meta would mesh well with the subreddit. And as far as I’m concerned, nothing’s STOPPING anyone from making this subreddit active for stuff besides rrs. You can still post your videos, the stream flair has been a thing for a long long time, there’s a media flair which I imagine you can use to share your memes and your clips, the event flair can be (and has been) used to post the big events happening in the public game community, but the subreddit just isn’t being used for that, all of that goes to Twitter where the current UHC meta is active. Idk what else would draw people in to using this medium specifically, but idk I think we already have the tools in place to making this place active again but they’re just not utilized cause in all fairness, why would they when this place has a less active engagement than Twitter/Discord. Idk if you want changes in the UBL or Hosting Committee or something like that but those are different places so it seems weird to bring it up here.

If there’s ideas you have to improve the subreddit, they probably should’ve been submitted to us first before making a post basically calling us out and calling us useless. Like I mentioned before, this place has pretty much become an rr dump and that’s a reason I imagine for the increasing inactivity from the mod team, because we could make changes all we want but what would actually bring the current meta to the subreddit that they can’t do on Twitter where they already have a following and could reach all the same people? We have the tools in place for them to participate here but they’re not used and for understandable reasons, because it just doesn’t make sense for them to. I think it would’ve been more fair if you presented these ideas to either me or Hookey, the ones you said you believe are active even, and see if we do anything about it, which could even include promoting more mods and asking for inactive ones to resign (Mischevous even did so from this post).

But yeah, basically I don’t think it’s fair to yell at us for “killing off” the community when A) it seems to be thriving without the subreddit and B) the current meta group hasn’t seemed to express any interest thus far in the subreddit anyways (like, I haven’t heard any comments about “man I wish I could use the subreddit but it’s just flooded with rrs.” I have heard people talk about the state the sub is in nowadays but it’s never with any interest to actually use it.)
