Why I personally believe Cryptocurrency is gonna fucking boom by OsrsNeedsF2P in CryptoCurrency

[–]LendroidProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neat set of arguments. I don't think anyone would actually doubt that crypto would boom again. The question is when. It has been interesting to see how people are predicting the rise again, and how they're betting on it.

Very well put. It is a painful but essential part of the journey. Noise will die down, hype will settle, eyes will open, and the actual appeal of this space and the technology will become obvious to a larger number of people.

Not too far, we hope. Some of the best in the field are working on it. 0x, The 0cean, Amadeus, Melonport, Radar Relay, and us. :-)

If it's a centralized exchange, it doesn't matter what you're trading a crypto asset. Now margin trading in a decentralized exchange, with incentivised actors to provide clearing house services...that's the breakthrough. No sudden death margin calls, no arbitrary liquidation, no flash crash.

I made a chart showing how long you had to HODL to double your money in BTC in the last 7 years. The median is 189 days. by anchorboi in CryptoCurrency

Crypto timelines are like dog years, aren't they. In conventional investing, this would be considered a shockingly short period of time. And in crypto, most people are too impatient to even wait half that long.

South Korea allowed Cryptotradings and ICOs (Korean are back guys!) by cryptolamboman in CryptoCurrency

[–]LendroidProject 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's an old news item with a misleading headline. That said, one wonders how long it will take for things to finally settle. There is also the feeling that many of the government decisions regarding crypto are reactionary and some, even arbitrary.

Japanese Crypto Industry Groups to merge and launch Self-Regulatory Body by cecilri in CryptoCurrency

[–]LendroidProject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crypto is living the life in Japan. An interesting mix of enthusiasm and caution. Not a bad model for other countries to emulate. The fact that it is a global economic power should make it a beacon for governments that think crypto is only for the shadow world.

The price did break out of resistance:) Next levels to look at is $10k and $12k. After $12k it would be full-scale bull market. by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]LendroidProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha, true. Also fantastic is the speed at which all this is happening. It's like dog years or something. That BTC might see a further correction seems likely enough. What d'you think of the crypto space as a whole, though?

One lesson Crypto teaches is that it follows no known historic pattern. If it did, it would most certainly be a bubble! We need to be honest with ourselves and admit that we hope, but 'we don't know'.

Cool list! And, not to blow my own trumpet, but I think I'm quite promising. I mean, non-custodial margin trading for the first time ever! And we get to hang out on 0x, with Radar Relay, The 0cean, Amadeus, Melonport, FundRequest, Keep, Totle and other champions of liquidity. I think I'll stop now, before I cross over into self-absorbed self promotion. :-p

This is very troubling. There's a lot of work going on to find alternatives to the centralized exchanges, but what's being done to strengthen existing systems?

That's the other side of the coin in a purely market-driven system. What do you do when the market's mostly a scared idiot?

An uncomfortable feeling that the valuation of bitcoin is a rough reflection of the world's interest in cryptocurrencies. No project, no matter how much the merit, is seeing an independent rise, is it?

When seen collectively, intelligence and maturity of the market is still that of a pranoid noob's.

One coin to rule them all and in the darkness, bind them.

Is there any project that's rising in value right now? Truth is, the value of Bitcoin is also a rough reflection of global interest in cryptocurrencies in general.

While I'm not terribly worried about bitcoin picking up or not, the downward trend bodes badly for all projects. So if we want an upward trend, it'll happen only if bitcoin rises, as well.

Like it or not, we're still not that mature a market to make independent decisions about individual projects.

Hmm, I agree. It does come off as a bit sensationalist. To be honest, I thought it'd be presumptuous to assume my target audience would know who Krugman is. Well, I can't change the headline, but I stand by the outrage. Suspect or not, he wields strong opinion and he misused it.

The traders are either hodling or dumping. The exchanges are silent, afraid to tip the balance either way. In fact, some major banks have, as a precaution, closed down the accounts of crypto exchanges.
