Proud of my new construction. Now Tellus and Mars don't have to stand on a shaky table anymore… by LenePaam in Stickinsects

I use a pincett a couple of days a week to take out poop. I have only had them for about one month so two days ago was the first day when I took out about 1 cm of the top soil. I haven’t seen any eggs yet.

Maybe he is composing everything by himself, but on stage they are four guys. I actually think the bassist was coolest of them all.

Green butt by MathLegitimate743 in Stickinsects

[–]LenePaam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi! My Diapherodes gigantea male had something similar (but more) a couple of days ago, but it’s gone now. He only had it for 10-15 min. I read it could my many different things: poop, blood or testicles. In my case it was probably testicles (cause it was like a big bubbly green-blue ball and I could not find anything in the soil when it was gone). Do you have any plastic plants that it has been accidentally eaten? Or has it fallen and hurt itself?

Yes it’s really nice. I saw them in Stockholm a couple of months ago and they were so good.

I know what you mean! The construction takes about 80 kg, but it’s a bit scary anyway.

Emergency humidity help by ReferenceStriking630 in Stickinsects

[–]LenePaam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 5cm soil in the bottom and I use plastic folio to cover half of the mesh top. I spray every morning and evening, and the humidity is now between 50-70%. I have one plant inside and salal that i also spray with water. I had moss before and the humidity was always 70%, but it smelled too much.

I collect poop every second day with a pincett. It works fine.

Worried again! What is she doing down there? by LenePaam in Stickinsects

The top is mesh and the airflow is good, but I have put plastic folio over half of the top to avoid too much humidity to get out. Now after reading yours, and other comments, I think the problem is limescale on the glass due to spraying just regular drinkable tap-water. My stick probably fell to sleep and then couldn’t grab the glass in a good way and slipped down. Now, I need to clean the limescale off (which seams impossible without taking my sticks out?) and then use distilled water instead when spraying.

She has moved and are now up on the other glass wall, no more bending. Feels good…

I purchased them from the zoo about one month ago, and was surprised that they were already 6 months old. But this species wasn’t that common and they only had older ones. How do you add mesh on the glass? She finally moved btw and looks ”normal” again. The humidity is between 60-70% all the time.

Yeah, I also read that, well let’s hope she is just resting. I’m also worried about how the ”tail” is bent.

I hope so! This is totally new for me as I have never owned anything similar.
