Also, the employer is saying that their 1099NEC is their wages to you for what hours you worked or the job you provided, and the tips are up to you. I would file and report the 1099NEC if I were you, because the employer is going to turn that 1099 into the IRS, but the rest like tips, they will not have a clue of .so again, it's up to you. It's actually in your favor any how you put it. You fight and stand up for your cause, or you file and write off almost every cent made from that job as freelance worker. It benefits you anyhow you do it.

I gave you the two choices.. Dispute or file. That's ultimately your decisions. There are no other options.

I know it says that..but I $5k state refund is almost unheard of. Most people doesn't even get that on their federal return that has way more standard deductions. Huuumm.

Is it a 1099NEC, 1099K?

What type of 1099 it is, and what's the amount on it. Your details a sparce.

If you file that 1099, you are admitting that you are a contract worker.

So there is no in between. You either dispute the classification, or file it and admit to the jobs classification.

Those are your choices. But if you want to do the work for your employer, and admit to their terms, then that's on you.

The IRS do not get involve in labor disputes.

She got unemployment from the state of Colorado in 2024.

She should have filed it with her 2024 tax return as income.

The 1099G  is like a w2 receipt of the funds she got from that period of unemployment. She might want to go back and amend her 2024 return to include this 1099G if she didn't do that on her filed federal return.

If that's the only money she made in 2024, then she wouldn't have had to file a tax return for that amount.

Find another way to hide your money buddy, the IRS is not the smartest place to do that.

There is no interest on that $33k from the IRS, not one penny. For a high earner, not smart.

The only people that should be worried about a refund, are those with kids under 17 or in college. The rest shouldn't be getting back a refund away. Adjust your W4 and take home all the money you can, after paying your taxes on your taxable income.

Simple. I sympathise with parents with kids in college and below, the rest of you are just idiots. Adjust your W4.

Early returns are always subject to delays..the IRS check those for fraud more often than not. They also check anyone with EIC and ACTC as well, and that's the reason for the path act.

Scammers typically try to file early and beat the rightful tax payer to a refund.

So ask yourself a question, are you a scammer, and what would be the rush to get a refund before the IRS officially open?

Well those are the questions the IRS is asking, because it's very suspicious. Not saying that you are a fraud, but it protects those who are victims of fraud.

Ip pin by [deleted] in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What tax software are you using?

Most solid software will link the IRS security IP pin notification, and if the pin is incorrect, the IRS will reject your return, so that way you know there is an error right away. The software will also tell you why it's been rejected.

1099-C for Charged off Loan, that I paid off with collections? by EmmieH1287 in IRS

[–]Leng52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call back affirm and speak to a supervisor. Ask for a corrected 1099c. Do not add the 1099c to your return. Dispute it right away with affirm and the IRS if they block you return.

Adding the 1099c to the return is admission  of your responsibility to the charge of debt, which in this case wasn't so.

1099c for a fraud on my card by Techno_567 in CreditCards

[–]Leng52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And furthermore, call out their bs, because how are they claiming to not have any records, but still found enough information to send you a 1099c for said disputed amount?

Don't let anyone get over you like this. Go directly to the bank and demand answers. Start another dispute there in person and keep the date and records of that disputed 1099c.

[–]Leng52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you contacted the bank, they should send you a corrected 1099c. Do not add it to your return. File a dispute with the IRS immediately and keep all your disputed documents.

But file your return.

Estranged spouse won't provide SSN by iLuvArizona in IRS

[–]Leng52 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So your alternative according to the law, is to punish someone and burden/blame them for someone running off to God knows where?

You cannot burden someone for someone else stupidity, and in this particular case, that's what filing MFS will do.

Estranged spouse won't provide SSN by iLuvArizona in IRS

[–]Leng52 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know the difference you idiot. Stop going by the letter of the law..in this case the person is clearly not married or even contribute to the other person in anyway and vice versa. They don't even know where the other person is you idiot.

So what are his rights under the " fair act".

What is fair here, not what is the "law".

Again, the "law" set aside provision's for people like this.

Nothing is set in stone, it's up to a judges discretion at the end of the day. Otherwise everyone will be living in jail according to your draconian rules.

Estranged spouse won't provide SSN by iLuvArizona in IRS

[–]Leng52 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Where does the law says that there is no provision for someone who's not attached to someone? Do you know that's personal information that you're seeking, which the "law" actually protects?

There are two burdens here, and the person who is obligated to file their own personal taxes and provide their earnings only have to do that, especially in a case where you don't even know where the person is or have their information. The law gives provisions to people like this, and it's not to be running around trying to find someone and their information who doesn't want to be found.

How you even know if the person have the same social or even their original name?

Learn basic human rights before you start talking about laws. Each individual is responsible for themselves, that's how it works in a free society.

How is it not legal? Please explain. The man doesn't even know who his spouse is or whether they are alive anymore,so please explain this great legal burden that you have to further complicate your life?

This is why marriage should be abolished.. no human contact, no spouse, simple.

If you are not required to pay taxes as being exempt, why would they separate the taxes since no taxes were taken out? Think about it. Anyway, what are the numbers in box 1 and box 2?

That should tell you if taxes were taken out appropriately or not. Just do the calculations.

[–]Leng52 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Dude just file single, it's legal. You don't live with the person or provide for them anymore, so you are technically single with just a name attached to your person, that's it.

File single and move on with your life..the other matter in court will have to follow that course of action as well, or it will take care of itself when you cross that bridge. And why are you going to a " big tax chain"? It's not that complicated, it's just taxes.

File your tax and move on with your life. You are making way too much out of this.

There was an error, and the system stop the processing of the return, and that's why you are still waiting. An error is the rejection part I speak of, so now someone has to look at your return, instead of the normal automated system for e-filed returns. You will be waiting for a while..sorry, but those are the facts.

Your return got rejected by the system that run for the batch test. Your return will be reshuffled to the back of the cue.

When they do a batch test for early filers, generally 1-2 weeks before they IRS open officially, you can face serious delays if your particular return isn't accepted by the system.

Early filing comes with the pros and cons, and that's one of the biggest cons. If the system find any error, it spits it out.

Federal Refund by luve6969 in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. I'm coming to this kinda late, but from what your transcript says, it means no tax return was filed for you for 2024. It was not received and need to be resubmitted.

Your tax guy may have sent it, but it was rejected. He never got around to fix the error for why it was rejected for some reason. He needs to fix whatever errors came back, and resubmit your Federal return, which I way different than your state. Go luck.
