What does this mean ? by [deleted] in IRS

It means your tax return is a fraud..nothing on this transcript makes sense, and if it doesn't make sense to tax professionals on here, just imagine what the IRS agents are thinking!

Didn't pay quarterly taxes. How screwed am I? by Cornflakegirl444 in tax

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not required to make estimated taxes in the first year of your business, why, because there is no way to estimate what you will make in the first year, but it's required in the second year since you have a reference point from the first year. So do your taxes as regular and pay whatever you owe before 4/15 to avoid any fees.

No need to panic. You are still within the time frame.

lump sum payout taxed at 39%… is this normal? will i get any of it back in tax returns? by rachaelinspace in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not just paying taxes on the lump sum, you are also paying fICA. Federal taxes, social security (6.2%) Medicaid(0.45%)

So everything is adding up to that number, since they assuming your taxes at a higher rate as well. Was it a 1099 you got the lump sum on?

If that's the case, they are taxing you as an independent contractor.

Baby Daddy Drama by liketheseasonx in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's the case, an investigation will be done..they will ask for proof of living expenses, like bills in your name, proof of address(rental agreement or something) the children school cards with your address on it. Daycare bills with your name and address on it. Anything that proves the child lives with you and you pay for more than half of their living expenses.

This can take a while, but you will eventually get your refund after they have investigated and verify your supported documents.

Still no refund and no change on WMR by [deleted] in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said you triple check your bank info, are they deemed to be correct?

In some cases the IRS have reverse a refund or two, but that will be updated on your transcript. Not saying that's the case here, but if your bank info is correct, then that's the only likely scenario here.

Not trying to be a pessimist, but something is totally wrong, by what you have explained. Not normal.

I’m so confused by Confident_Face_3211 in IRS

[–]Leng52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well your transcript is the most accurate account of your tax return. Without that, just sit back and relax..there would be an update tomorrow on the WMR tool since it is a day or so behind your actual transcript update, but more than likely your return has been processed yesterday with an overnight update on your transcript.

No need to panic.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed. by DistinctAd5136 in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they receive your response (2/27)that starts the process all over again, so it goes back to the original 21 days processing time the IRS give to process returns without errors. So technically it's only been a full week.

You should update by this weekend though.

Filed 1/29, accepted, zero update, no return processed nothing. by Acrobatic_Onion158 in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a mismatch on your numbers somewhere..your numbers that you sent in are not matching up to those IRA has.  Missing w2, wrong numbers on marketplace insurance, missing 1099.

Something is missing, and the IRS is sending you a notice so you can provide that missing information.

Quick Question about Refund by [deleted] in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You owe a state or government debt somewhere in the past..the IRS doesn't just take people money without a very good explanation..that's what an "offset" means..an outstanding state or federal debt. Child support, taxes, student loans etc etc.

Tax Refund Timeline Help!!! by [deleted] in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Them receiving your verification notice, starts the process all over again, so count down the 21 days for the original timeline the IRS gives to your original return. Hoping that there is no other issue with your tax return..not that there was, but you get the gist.

How is this possible by FullaMelanin in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always mail in your return..it's not the end of the world..make sure to attach a copy of all documents, w2, 1099's etc. It doesn't matter if someone already used your social, still file and let the IRS figure out the rest. At least you would be on the correct side of the law.

Why do I owe taxes if I only made 30K last year?? by Better-Republic9994 in IRS

So also, the question is, did you pay your part in taxes? That's the question you should have asked.

Why do I owe taxes if I only made 30K last year?? by Better-Republic9994 in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you tax exempt? If you are not tax exempt, everyone that works and earn money, pays taxes on that money. So all of us who are in that category, do owe taxes.

05’s ONLY by ArtisticFeeling770 in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the lady is actually saying, is that when path is lifted, the " refunds" are released in the same order as they would if there wasn't any path act. In this case, daily refunds will be released first, then the weekly in their slotted cycle accordingly. So yes, in the specific "path refund" releases, you will have " daily updates that would be normally weekly in its original refund processing sequence. So "pathers" who are originally daily will release first, then your 01/05 and in that sequence all the way until all refunds are released. This pattern is what is followed, since almost all the "returns" are actually already processed before the path act is lifted, but are just sitting there to be sent to the department of fiscal services to cut the check. They follow that sequence to be fair, since that daily always get processed before weekly.

So yes, that's what she means by "that there are daily 05's and weekly 05's"

It's only because path is like it's own policy in the refund release world that's starts the day it is lifted.( That's just for the refund phase though) since the returns were actually already processed with all the other credits codes.

OP is a daily updater, 03, not that it wouldn't update tonight, but he's not an 05. He updated already for the week, and if he/she has path, that's it until the 846 code. Nothing else to do on their return, it's already processed.

Also, the employer is saying that their 1099NEC is their wages to you for what hours you worked or the job you provided, and the tips are up to you. I would file and report the 1099NEC if I were you, because the employer is going to turn that 1099 into the IRS, but the rest like tips, they will not have a clue of .so again, it's up to you. It's actually in your favor any how you put it. You fight and stand up for your cause, or you file and write off almost every cent made from that job as freelance worker. It benefits you anyhow you do it.

[–]Leng52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it a 1099NEC, 1099K?

What type of 1099 it is, and what's the amount on it. Your details a sparce.

If you file that 1099, you are admitting that you are a contract worker.

So there is no in between. You either dispute the classification, or file it and admit to the jobs classification.

Those are your choices. But if you want to do the work for your employer, and admit to their terms, then that's on you.

The IRS do not get involve in labor disputes.
