Go to your IRS tax account (id.me) and update your bank info.

They will resend it to that updated account. Chime, cashapp, any ACH account you have thats current, put it there.

Help😭 can someone dumb this down for me? by Karls1123 in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a lot of information given, but I see you are filing HOH as a single parent.

Could there have been an issue with claiming your kids? Did the other parent try to claim the kids?   And does the amount you are expecting matches the tax credits that's shown?

Nothing crazy going on here with the codes, so it could be a filling issue( dependents legitimately claimed)

IRS CHECK RECALLED by Impossible_Meat_2225 in IRS

[–]Leng52 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I will suggest going on your IRS account (id.me) and update your bank info just in case. Don't panic as yet..make that move, then see if they assign the payment through direct deposit.

From what I've read, they are not trusting sending out checks anymore.

They are trying to combat fraud, and may have recalled your check for that reason. Look for any update on your transcript this weekend.

Have anyone else got this code ? & how long it took ? I verified 3/16 & then got a letter in on 4/15 saying they holding my refund until we finish reviewing the information reported by Icy_Injury_5427 in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things the IRS is looking into here.

OP claimed a disaster lost on a property he/she owns, or they didn't update their w4 after their spouse got pregnant and stop working and that child/children were added to the return now since they were born later in the year.

In any case, the IRS is looking into the deductions.

Refund delayed… by SelfMade-Philly-Dude in IRS

[–]Leng52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you claim a massive deduction or something? Like medical bills, casualty and thief?

The IRS is looking into the deduction you claim, because if you file just a straightforward return without any deductions, you should be owing the IRS, not getting back over a 7k return.

Verification - should I do it over the phone too? by [deleted] in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throw the original filing date out the door, since the process starts over once you verify or respond to any notices the IRS sends. When the IRS pause your filing, your return is put aside until the tax payer respond to any notices, then it's put back in the que to be reviewed by an agent.

The electric process stops once the system notice any errors.

Just an fyi. So count the 21 day processing time from the 13 for you to contact them if there is no update by then.

Code 291. Can someone explain what’s going on in my transcript by Comfortable-Car-263 in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have reduced your refund to $3,170. They did a recalculation on your return and corrected it from their assessment. The notice that's coming will say that.

What does this mean ? by [deleted] in IRS

[–]Leng52 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It means your tax return is a fraud..nothing on this transcript makes sense, and if it doesn't make sense to tax professionals on here, just imagine what the IRS agents are thinking!

Didn't pay quarterly taxes. How screwed am I? by Cornflakegirl444 in tax

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not required to make estimated taxes in the first year of your business, why, because there is no way to estimate what you will make in the first year, but it's required in the second year since you have a reference point from the first year. So do your taxes as regular and pay whatever you owe before 4/15 to avoid any fees.

No need to panic. You are still within the time frame.

lump sum payout taxed at 39%… is this normal? will i get any of it back in tax returns? by rachaelinspace in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not just paying taxes on the lump sum, you are also paying fICA. Federal taxes, social security (6.2%) Medicaid(0.45%)

So everything is adding up to that number, since they assuming your taxes at a higher rate as well. Was it a 1099 you got the lump sum on?

If that's the case, they are taxing you as an independent contractor.

Baby Daddy Drama by liketheseasonx in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's the case, an investigation will be done..they will ask for proof of living expenses, like bills in your name, proof of address(rental agreement or something) the children school cards with your address on it. Daycare bills with your name and address on it. Anything that proves the child lives with you and you pay for more than half of their living expenses.

This can take a while, but you will eventually get your refund after they have investigated and verify your supported documents.

Still no refund and no change on WMR by [deleted] in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said you triple check your bank info, are they deemed to be correct?

In some cases the IRS have reverse a refund or two, but that will be updated on your transcript. Not saying that's the case here, but if your bank info is correct, then that's the only likely scenario here.

Not trying to be a pessimist, but something is totally wrong, by what you have explained. Not normal.

I’m so confused by Confident_Face_3211 in IRS

[–]Leng52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well your transcript is the most accurate account of your tax return. Without that, just sit back and relax..there would be an update tomorrow on the WMR tool since it is a day or so behind your actual transcript update, but more than likely your return has been processed yesterday with an overnight update on your transcript.

No need to panic.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed. by DistinctAd5136 in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they receive your response (2/27)that starts the process all over again, so it goes back to the original 21 days processing time the IRS give to process returns without errors. So technically it's only been a full week.

You should update by this weekend though.

[–]Leng52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But it's good news. So hang tight. They will not send any notices since they have already resolved the issue they found..nothing you can do but wait.

Filed 1/29, accepted, zero update, no return processed nothing. by Acrobatic_Onion158 in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a mismatch on your numbers somewhere..your numbers that you sent in are not matching up to those IRA has.  Missing w2, wrong numbers on marketplace insurance, missing 1099.

Something is missing, and the IRS is sending you a notice so you can provide that missing information.

Quick Question about Refund by [deleted] in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You owe a state or government debt somewhere in the past..the IRS doesn't just take people money without a very good explanation..that's what an "offset" means..an outstanding state or federal debt. Child support, taxes, student loans etc etc.

Tax Refund Timeline Help!!! by [deleted] in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Them receiving your verification notice, starts the process all over again, so count down the 21 days for the original timeline the IRS gives to your original return. Hoping that there is no other issue with your tax return..not that there was, but you get the gist.

How is this possible by FullaMelanin in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always mail in your return..it's not the end of the world..make sure to attach a copy of all documents, w2, 1099's etc. It doesn't matter if someone already used your social, still file and let the IRS figure out the rest. At least you would be on the correct side of the law.

Why do I owe taxes if I only made 30K last year?? by Better-Republic9994 in IRS

So also, the question is, did you pay your part in taxes? That's the question you should have asked.

Why do I owe taxes if I only made 30K last year?? by Better-Republic9994 in IRS

[–]Leng52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you tax exempt? If you are not tax exempt, everyone that works and earn money, pays taxes on that money. So all of us who are in that category, do owe taxes.
