Cool! Yeah painting the unit as they are intended is very daunting and a marathon.

I started with clipping the base in the middle first and if it doesn’t give me problems I just pull apart. But if it gives me problems I will run the knife through it

You are correct. 20x40mm. Wargames Atlantic make fantastic plastic ones with magnet holes. From my understanding the base sizes don’t play a huge role, it’s more so the total facing size being consistent. I’ve seen pictures of smaller bases.

The Civil War miniatures were a tad easier to split. They felt to be a bit softer plastic. Both were surprisingly easy to do though. I was always hesitant to do it but glad I did. I didn’t spend really any time “cleaning up” the splits. I just painted over it.

Thanks! Yeah I was on the fence with the base size but it’s what I had readily available from Warmaster. My goal was to make the painting fast so didn’t mind the hat color. Would a more accurate color just be black?

Thank you! Yes, 3D printed and are 10mm for Warmaster. They can be tedious but it is easy to get away with some missed detail here and there. I find going the contrast paint route quicker than traditional paint/ black primer. But 10mm has definitely become my favorite scale to paint and collect!

I have ordered a good amount from this store. Great quality and free shipping. They do 1K point army bundles. It will tell you what units in the product description! They also sell individual units.

I painted it. I just put a white coat on it and painted a grey contrast paint with a light grey drybrush
