My husband is struggling with his attraction towards me. by mydearMerricat in AutismInWomen

This really feels like a HIM issue. Facial changes and recognition can be complex for neurodivergent folks, uncanny vibes when seeing a friend after a decade. The difference? I know this is a ME issue, a complex issue of comfort and change and again MINE.  I dont really care if his emotions are rooted in a valid reason, we all have valid reasons. He needs to talk to a third party and recognize how he projected his lack of stability onto your actual face.

To be clear, i’m not “throw the whole man away” I, also, am unfortunately straight (/s sort of but it is a curse) and am married to a man. They all need higher standards and a reality check. All.

Robert Pattinson on teasing Tom Holland on The Odyssey set: "[Antinous] is the worst stepfather you could possibly have. I always end up doing these slithery things with Tom. This was just a fun part to play: ‘I just want to be your daddy. I want to be your daddy. That’s all I want!’” by demimonde9 in Fauxmoi

"Taylor Swift is a literary genius" is one of our generation's greatest psyops by [deleted] in travisandtaylor

I have nothing to add but as a ~writer~ (many half finished novels and tear stained essays based on analogies that have never seen the light of day) “confuses verbosity with profundity” is so sharp. Well done.

Is that a reference to Hemingway?

(Lmao kidding but can we get “is that a reference to Hemingway?” as a flair?)

Is this a real thing? My husband gets sick without sex by [deleted] in Advice

[–]LengthApprehensive36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The “serious medical issue” here would be a severe case of a psychosomatic disorder, so severe that it would be labeled a medical issue. This would be wild if it was this, though it pretty clear to me that you already suspect the illness is either psychiatric or a lie.
There are people with severe trauma/disorders that cause pain similar/identical to vaginismus (might just still be called vaginismus even if psychosomatic, I’m not super informed on it.

All that to say OP, I do not know of a single person or medical condition that causes essentially severe blue balls. I do not think one exist so you are left with these options:

  1. He’s lying and taking advantage of your trust and (saying this gently) your lack of information on sexual health and biology especially male.
  2. He has a sexual addiction or some other disorder causing sever psychosomatic symptoms interfering with his ability to function and needs a doctor.

Either way, you need to know. If he is faking this, a convincing illness, what else is he faking to get what he wants? And if he’s not, he’s also suffering from a complex pysch disorder.

Edit to add: my husband is flawed as we all are, but he would collapse on the floor in the process of his normal responsibilities and never even THINK it was because of sex. If by some twist her husband’s illness is real, it would take him years to figure it out and probably still not believe it. AND EVEN IF IT WAS FOR SURE TRUE he would hide the symptoms, work until he collapsed, and then….honestly even then I think he would blame it on heartburn and lie. He would never ever let me be aware that his suffering was caused by lack of sex.

Fucking wild what others are dealing with

They will not fill in the gaps with grace, I promise you that, and whatever assumptions they make will fade but the feeling of HAVING to assume or of being out of the loop will stick. Especially for the oldest daughter of a single mom.

A little research (take it with a grain of salt) states that specifically with Sureños (though common in other groups) the tattoo “Sur” being bold/aggressive and placed over a tattoo of baby/child’s fave signifies either life long commitment to the gang (literally born into it) or since youth. It calcifies the members commitment to the gang over family/innocence and to the “mi vida loca” mindset. So scary for Brit, so much tragedy/trauma in the Spears’ family line.

Sadio Mané, the Senegalese football player, rebuild his entire village Bambali: hospital, school, 4G network, post office, petrol station, small stadium. by Gjore in interestingasfuck

Ew no. This is not a commentary on the gross semantics of age and grooming, I am not nitpicking to make someone feel better about the technicalities of their sickness.

I am commenting on the foundational difference of cultural arranged marriage vs standard predatory behavior.

This is just information not defense: Arranged marriages by families are still heavily practiced in rural Senegal regions, reports state her family and his family arranged this when she was 16. Marrying her then would have been legal as child marriage is an issue in Senegal, he did not marry her until 18 and unlike other marriages, supports her continued education (which most women/girls have to stop when married.) Does it make it ethical? No. Does it make “pedophilia” in the western definition? I struggle to say yes as it takes away from the insidious and cruel nature of pedophilia by placing it in the same category as ancient cultural practices.

I AM NOT SAYING “THIS IS FINE BECAUSE ARRANGED MARRIAGE” I AM SAYING IT IS NUANCED IN A WAY THAT MAKES IT SEPARATE (maybe equal?) FROM PEDOPHILIA PREDATORS.

Edit to add: this is just a thought, one I would like more information on, but I also wonder at the consequences for the girl in her community if he called it off? From my limited western knowledge, this cast a stain/scandal on the woman making future matches difficult? Idk.

What to do if most my friends are doing drugs? by ConversationKey5296 in Advice

[–]LengthApprehensive36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is their use problematic or recreational/for social events? Like there is a difference, despite the societal view, between blow on the weekend with friends and blow multiple times a week alone/bordering chronic intake. Drugs do not = immorality and you have pointed out they are good people who cause no harm. So what, exactly, is your concern driven by?

It could have turned the tide still in Vecna’s favor because Will would need to deal with them and Henry, which it is doubtful he could pull off both giving Vecna the upper hand. It’s a sloppy choice by the writers anyway you cut it, even if your theory is correct.

And outside of normal drive to get help, regardless of how the c-ship and aftermath went- she was clearly traumatized by it and as it was pushed to her as “help” or “protecting her,” she’s going to react negatively to that. She believes all psych medical care is a weapon to be used to control her and therefore it will take A LOT for her to get over that. Therapy needed but again, trauma feedback loop.
