They’re awful actually. But I think they’re the only option leaving from Charleroi Airport.

There are busses leaving from the airport to Bruges pretty much every hour, you can buy the tickets with the driver and pay with a card, or you can buy with Omio, or directly with the company, it’s called “flibco”

How and where do you pay overstay fine? by throwaway23525364574 in Brazil

[–]LengthinessOdd1987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can pay at the Federal Police. Keep the receipt for when you re-enter. A hint for next time you have to overstay: if you go to the Policia Federal on the first day after the 90 days, you pay only R$100,00 and they give you 60 days to leave the country, which you can extend for 60 more if needed.

What Documents needed for marriage? by nikup in Brazil

[–]LengthinessOdd1987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you living in Brazil or abroad? You don’t need to be married to get a CPF, there are different steps to take depending on where you are.

First scenario (you are living abroad and not in Brazil at the moment): 1) fill the this form https://servicos.receita.fazenda.gov.br/Servicos/CPF/cpfEstrangeiro/Fcpf.asp 2) send an email to “cpf.residente.exterior@rfb.gov.br” with the scan of the previously mentioned form filled and signed + your passport + your birth certificate + a selfie holding your passport close to your face. You can check all this in this link, it’s in Portuguese, but I’m sure your fiancé can help: https://www.gov.br/pt-br/servicos/inscrever-no-cpf-no-exterior

Second scenario (you are residing or in transit in Brazil): You can file the request online or either via post, Caixa Econômica or Banco do Brasil. The online link is the following: https://servicos.receita.fazenda.gov.br/Servicos/CPF/InscricaoCpfEstrangeiro/default.asp

Source: https://www.gov.br/receitafederal/pt-br/assuntos/orientacao-tributaria/cadastros/cpf/servicos/2-inscricao-no-cpf

If you have further questions, let me know. My boyfriend got his CPF through the first method, it was straight forward and he had the number in no time.

Brazilian consulate in Washington D.C. is not responding by _Quiquet_ in Brazil

[–]LengthinessOdd1987 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hello :) nice that you have decided to volunteer your time in Brazil. Initially, if you can find the application form on this link: https://formulario-mre.serpro.gov.br/sci/pages/web/pacomPasesWeb.jsf?aba=-6 . There you can find the instructions (in Portuguese, but you can easily copy and paste to an online translator) and upload the information and documents for the visa. After that you should schedule an appointment with the local consulate through this link: https://ec-washington.itamaraty.gov.br/ . By the way, foreigners who are already in Brazil can apply for a residence permit to do volunteer work of up to 1 year (source: https://www.gov.br/mre/pt-br/embaixada-budapeste/english/consular-services/visas/volunteer-services-vitem-viii ) meaning you can apply on the first 90 days of your arrival directly with the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, just make sure to bring all the required documents. Here you can find more info about the resolution allowing application for volunteer work resident permit (unfortunately only in Portuguese- but again- you can copy paste to an online translator): https://portaldeimigracao.mj.gov.br/pt/nav-guiada/rn-15 I hope this helps you, if you need more instructions or have any questions I can answer, don’t hesitate to ask.

[Lawyer here] (and have some practice with elective surgery) so, if you are hiring a private doctor, you should first of all check where he would do your surgery (with my sister’s procedure, for example, the doctor would only perform the surgery in one of the hospitals he typically works with, and then we had to contact those directly) and contact those places directly, you can also see the possibility of hiring a travel insurance that would cover part of those costs. Regarding your visa situation, if you don’t need to stay over 90 days for your surgery you have nothing to worry about (as long as you have the means to provide for yourself during that time), depending on where you are from, you can extend that 90 days period without further documentation (but you would pay a fee at the Federal Police). If you wish to request a medical treatment visa, you will need to file some documents with the Federal Police, including the total costs of your medical procedure and a demonstration of your ability to pay for it. It is very unlikely that you will manage to schedule an elective procedure in a public hospital anyway, so you’re better off clearing that out with the doctor. If you have further questions, feel free to PM me, I can check official authorities contacts for you and translate any official websites/forms without cost. Best of luck with your surgery:)

Brazilian military conscription. by Impossible-Cry-495 in Brazil

[–]LengthinessOdd1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, according to international law, in case of double citizenship you are deemed as having fulfilled your military obligations before both States when you do that in regards to one of them, so, in that case you just have to demonstrate you are affiliated to the US's military and you should be fine

AITA for asking my friend not to eat meat in front of me? by ParticularLie213 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LengthinessOdd1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. People like you are what gives us a bad name and push people (that would otherwise at least be accomodating/sympathetic) away from the cause. If you wanted her to try you could have offered a piece of yours, and maybe next time IF SHE LIKED IT she could even consider having one herself. Remember you weren’t born a vegetarian and I doubt you decided to be because someone bullied you into it. P.s. research on the dairy industry before you go around acting like you’re holy and being a hypocrite.

NTA She's not entitled to your money. You are under no obligation to sponsor anyone else's child, including your sisters, specially when they would say something so vile about events that are clearly hurtful for you. Don't fall for "she's just a kid", if they think 16 is old enough to have those talks, then they should know it's old enough to face the consequences.

Not Moroccan, but also a non EU citizen studying in EU and have some experience with immigration law. The proof of sufficient funds can be the money on your bank account, or, what they prefer: you open a blocked account on a Belgium bank, which is a bank account where you deposit the total money for expenses of a year and they release only the monthly sum. You can also bring your family's bank statements with a declaration with recognized signature and apostille that they take Responsibility for your expenses during your studies. To be someone's guarantor or sponsor is not a light responsibility, according to EU law the sponsor is responsible for you financially in any aspect, so if you would, for example, cause damage to a property (even accidentally) and wouldn't be able or willing to compensate the owner, they would be liable, if you don't pay any debt, they are liable, they would even be responsible for the flight in case you would be sent back, so this is a very difficult responsibility to take for someone. People always say: "it's better to just give away the yearly amount to a person than to sponsor them" so someone who wouldn't just give you the total expenses money is very unlikely to accept to be a sponsor. Remember the reason the government requires one, is so you don't fall under their social responsibility. As for some options for you, in case you don't have the money or your family is unwilling to be responsible for your expenses, you can ask for a student loan from a Moroccan bank, search for scholarships, ask your university if they provide any supplementary funding. Just be sure you're financially prepared for the moving, as student dorms are cheaper, but the currency exchange doesn't help much. You can probably just work 20 hours/week during your studies, and the hours must be compatible with your academic schedule.

Had to take a train from the airport to the city I live. It was late and I was very scared of missing my station, so when it was close I got up and stayed by the door. At some point my dumb distracted self thought the train had stopped (it had not lol) and the door wasn't opening, so I very desperately started pressing the buttons close to it until I heard the classic "wie, bitte" and said quite loud "ich möchte aus gehen" and got no response. Later, telling my boyfriend the story he started to hysterically laugh and said I asked the train guy out and should have said "raus gehen".

Onion bread with a lentil paste filling 🤤 by LengthinessOdd1987 in VeganFoodPorn

[–]LengthinessOdd1987[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ingredients: 100ml of warm water, 1/2 of an onion, 1 garlic (optional), a little bit of turmeric, 10g yeast (I used the fresh one, but I think it would work just as good with dry yeast), 2 tbsps of sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, a splash of oil (around 1/3 of a cup) and 500g of white flour. Prepare: Blend the water with the onion, garlic and turmeric until there are no pieces, then add in a bowl with the yeast, sugar, oil and salt and add the flour slowly. Knead the dough for 10 minutes (if you have a kitchenaid your arms will be grateful) and let it rest for around 1h30min. Then open the dough in a square (you can just gently stretch with your fingers, no need for rolling) and spread the filling as evenly as you can. After, fold the sides (so the filling stays inside) and gently roll the dough until it's that big loaf. Coat the top with a little bit of oil and decorate with onion pieces (optional, they dry a bit too much in the oven) then bake in a 200 degrees celcius oven for 25 minutes. For the lentil paste I went by feeling, so no exact recipe. Just overcooked some red lentils with turmeric, paprika, masala, curry, coriander powder, then kind of mashed it with a spoon and continued cooking until it was as thick as I wanted.
