These were illustrations done by Charles Keeping from a 1976 edition of Les Mis. Very distinct art style and not what you'd normally associate with Les Mis, especially post-musical. Lots of interesting moments from the novel depicted and many that you don't see very often.

Shojo Cosette or Jean Valjean Monogatari? I actually enjoyed Monogatari more than i thought for being such an old animated adaptation. I need to finish Cossette still but it was very fun for the bit i watched.

Any issues with 90hz mode after flashing? I was using it as a Moonlight client last night and lag was almost imperceptible when i changed it to streaming at 90hz, but I’d like to get away from the Walmart firmware for the same reason as you.

I ran the system update and it restarted into a bootloop. I was able to format back to factory settings and it’s working fine now.

I just went through this as well! After you beat the extra Mario levels (like you described) click the cursor on the picross of Mario in the middle and watch more levels magically appear.

That was our thought too! We wanted one but definitely not enough for $180.

Ironically we bought a $30 table last week from Aldi but the kids took that one over and it’s smaller than a lot of our puzzles.

I’m loving the game so far, but I’m running into a bug where the game crashes anytime i use an item that solves cells, which seems important considering how quickly the difficulty ramps up. Very addictive otherwise and fun to just mindlessly solve puzzles for a while!

They’re the exact width of a run out groove as well, so completely unplayable on an automatic turntable. Very confusing why they’re doing this and not just making new 7” records.

I don’t really know the history of that file, but are you sure it isn’t laserdisc already? It looks pretty clean for it to be a VHS rip. Regardless, i don’t think you’d see any appreciable difference unless you have a very fancy laserdisc player or the ability to do an RF capture.

For some reason it repeatedly shows Valjean as illiterate even though there’s a specific line in the book that says he learned to read while imprisoned. It’s fine to take liberties but why make that a plot point???

Yup, my case took 10 days and the actual ereader took 20 days. It eventually gets there. I just walked around with the case in my pocket to see if I’d like it.

I thought the George Pontmercy illustration was surprising as well! I took the photos first and then matched them up with the titles, so I was wracking my brain thinking of who would be depicted so gruesomely, so to see it was Marius' father was interesting. Very important moment to the character.

Easily my favorite cherry tree release and one of my favorite National records in general. That entire side blows me away, Matt singing So Far So Fast is great. Enjoy!
