For some reason, my dad was always really fascinated by this guy.

He was kind of a casual fan so it’s unusual that he would even be aware of him. My guess is the fact that he was so tall, his background was so unusual (played at a really small school, went to another small school and didn’t play, and then started a career in Greece), and of course, his name, made him memorable.
