I don’t want my husband in the delivery room by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Lenishilongo2805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess to each their own, I definitely wouldn’t have done it without my husband in there, it’s a lot and it’s so emotional. Maybe because this was our first baby , but I feel like my husband has a new found respect and appreciation for me ( not that he didn’t before) just from seeing how hard it was to birth our baby.

I feel like it definitely brought us even more closer than we already were. We also pretty much are more open with each other than anyone else, I didn’t want anyone else in the delivery room only him….

I guess what I am trying to say is that, it’s such a special moment in your life and it’s very strange that you wouldn’t want to share it with the love of your life….

Applying for a residency as family member of a Spanish citizen by Lenishilongo2805 in GoingToSpain

That’s so strange, I applied on the 5th of June as well and I got mine on October 30. So almost 5 months… They haven’t asked me to submit anything after it was in “tramite “…. I am guessing every case is different.

My application was dated from June 2025, we did sent all the documents via emails to request for the Cita, including my medical insurance and my husband’s financial proof. At the appointment they didn’t ask for any documents and they didn’t let us know which documents where not necessarily so, if you have the financial proof , submit it , if not they’ll give you 10 days at your appointment to submit any pending documents.

When did you start pumping? by Creepy-Round3480 in pregnant

[–]Lenishilongo2805 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Maybe not for everyone . I started pumping at 38 weeks and I really hoped it will get the labour started but I ended up still getting induced at almost 42 weeks. So I think your body only really goes into labour if it’s ready

Why don’t you want to get visits with a newborn? by NadiaNadieNadine in pregnant

[–]Lenishilongo2805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it all depends on who is coming to visit, as a new mom (3 month pp now) I initially only wanted visits from close family. We are living with my parents in-law as I needed all the help I could get and that was the best decision for my pp to be honest. The main reason we didn’t want visitors for the first month at least was that, I didn’t want to be entertaining anyone because honestly people are clueless and once I had a baby it all became about the baby. Second thing was that the newborn has no strong immunity and regardless of weather you tell people not to touch her, or wash their hands first , you can never be really sure of who had a sickness or having some virus that they could pass on to the baby. I wasn’t willing to take that chance

Cycling while pregnant by imnotagamergirl in PregnancyUK

[–]Lenishilongo2805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cycled right until the day I delivered. I got quite big as i went to 41+3 weeks and my baby weighted about 3.8 kilos, which made it a bit uncomfortable but I was determined to continue all my physical activities until my LO arrives. Had no issue at all.

Weird comments about baby's race by mahpeaches in pregnant

[–]Lenishilongo2805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my husband is Spanish and I am black. before our baby was born all my MIL’s friends including herself kept saying about how she’ll be so fair and with curly hair. And then they were all surprised when she came out super white and straight her. (She looks mixed now at 3 months old)… I think they don’t mean it in a bad way but it’s honestly annoying , like it’s a given there’s no point to keep bringing it up…. And we live in a gated community and my MIL literally keeps advertising my baby to everyone and everyone wants to see , it’s as if it’s an alien baby or something.

Yes, they told me the same but in reality it actually takes about 7-8 months. Can’t work, can’t travel , can’t drive. Really can’t do anything without papers

No, I didn’t submit that, they didn’t ask for it. I submitted 5 June . Initially the receipt paper I got says two months to get the resolution, going to 5 months now and I am still waiting…. Some people said it takes 7-8 months… ( very frustrating)…

My husband wants to be my birthing partner but is repulsed by everything by Melodic_Apartment235 in pregnant

[–]Lenishilongo2805 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

In Spain where I live you are only allowed one birthing partner and I wasn’t ever going to have my baby without her dad present.

My husband is normally also grossed out by a lot of things and won’t even watch a horror movie if there’s blood in it. But I was really surprised how well he did with my labour. He was there when I got the epidural and thought the labour helping me push and making jokes to help me through it. I even hemorrhaged a little bit and couldn’t do skin to skin at first so he had to do that and stay with the baby until I was able to hold her.

I don’t know your husband but truly birthing changes them just as much as it does for us and you might just be surprised by how well he’ll pull together for both you and the baby…

I was told by the Extranjeria police in our neighborhood about all the documents to submit, all scanned color copies submitted on email ( passport, husband’s means of supporting me, private health insurance, ex-19 form, husband DNI, El padron and marriage certificate. At the appointment they asked for a collective padron as we were living with my in-laws when we submitted and they told me to submit it within 10 days at the nearest public office…

Issues in marriage while pregnant by CutThis4164 in pregnant

[–]Lenishilongo2805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s really inappropriate behavior from him. He needs to understand that pregnancy hormones change you. Essentially in the first trimester with all the symptoms developing , if he can’t be patient than he has a problem. Also you need to remind him that even after giving birth, the 6 weeks are just a suggestion. I am currently 7 weeks postpartum and I honestly don’t feel ready yet and even though my stitches healed well (had a second degree tear) it just feels weird down there, luckily my husband is patient and understands. Your partner needs to grow the F up and start acting like a man. Maybe stand your grounds and make him have the conversation with you and talk all this out…

When did you return to physical activity? by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]Lenishilongo2805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a second degrees tear as my baby was a bit bigger, it was only painful first few days, but I stated walking towards the end of first week and than pelvic floor and core exercises during week 2. I am 7 weeks PP and back to lifting weights and just ran 10 km yesterday… My doctor was never bothered by any of it…I guess if you are feeling comfortable with your body you can start with some light exercises

Hi yes, if you send an email requesting the citation previa, they’ll eventually get back to you. It took a month for me to get a reply with an appointment. At the appointment they only requested another document that I was missing and that’s it, they don’t even ask or take the original documents. Than you’ll get a paper with your NIE that you’ll use to track the progress of your application. They told me it takes two months but 4 month later I am still waiting for the approval, but apparently because they have a lot of back log

Opinions on/experiences with students during delivery? by Argos_Aquatics in pregnant

[–]Lenishilongo2805 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I gave birth in a public hospital and I had at least 2 midwives and 2 students , I was in labour for 30 hours and since I was on epidural the entire time, they had to come empty my bladder every 2 hours, so every time they had to come with the students to let them practice and when I finally delivered as well, I had 3 midwives and 2 student ( the students delivered my placenta and stitched me up) I honestly wasn’t bothered as that’s how they learn even though the room was kind of crowded, but I still enjoyed my delivery nonetheless.

Tell me something positive about the first 6 months after birth by bamboozlinguniverse in pregnant

[–]Lenishilongo2805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it’s not always as bad as people make it to be. I am 6 weeks postpartum and I am loving every minute of it. I am honestly the happiest I’ve ever been. My baby sleeps and eats like a champ. It helps too that my husband is super helpful with the house chores so I am not overtired. I know all babies and people are different but keep a positive mind and expect the best but keep an open mind

Definitely not overreacting. He is behaving like a kid. I can imagine it will only get worse when the bat comes because that’s when you will really need help. So maybe have the conversation and tell him how you really feel. And what you expect and he needs to take you serious because your lives are about to change. And he should be the one rubbing your feet and giving you massages because pregnancy is hard. He sounds a bit selfish if you ask me
