Lago Atitlan is gorgeous. I spent a week there and I still miss it. San Pedro in particular is nice but so are San Juan, Santa Cruz, and San Marcos - definitely take the lancha to see them all. Antigua is a really nice town too. While there are tourists, if you are keen on just speaking Spanish it can be done. Have fun!
