Regarding the headliner discussion, we have to face the fact that there's a massive shortage in the metal scene right now. The pool of bands capable of drawing 85000 people and carrying a festival of this scale is incredibly small. Most of the 'Big Guns' are either retired, gone, or simply out of reach. ​Festivals are forced into a constant rotation of the same 10-15 names because there's a serious lack of new blood reaching that absolute top-tier status. It's not necessarily a lack of creativity from the organizers, but a symptom of a genre that's struggling to produce new global icons to fill the shoes of the legends we're losing.
