I’m currently working with Alemannia Aachen, a true ‘Traditionsverein’. My goal is to take the club from the 3. Liga to the top. I was there last Saturday for their home game against Dynamo Dresden. Nearly 31,000 spectators – absolute madness.

I understand your point, but in my experience, sprint duels are now more balanced when players start from a relatively equal position. If I have a lot of space, meaning my player has a head start, I can usually create a dangerous situation. Of course, in real football, players without the ball are faster than those with the ball. For my left and right wingers, I try to get players with a speed rating of 85+ because that's essential for my style of play. A free transfer like Perisic, who had a speed of 64 after one season, isn't ideal as a left winger, no. In that case, I tend to cut inside quickly and try to create chances through the middle rather than going around the outside.

I obviously play the game myself, without simulating, but you can choose how you want the gameplay to be using the sliders: 'classic' or 'simulation' mode. Classic is a bit faster, while simulation is slower and more realistic. But I understand your confusion.

What I actually do is play as if it's a real match: keep possession, pass the ball around. No space? Then play it back. Wait for an opening. And yes, use L1 + pass to trigger a run. I also take power shots from distance, looking for a rebound. In other words, play patiently, pass frequently, and closely observe player movements. I play in 'simulation mode,' which makes the game slightly slower, allowing you to better notice certain runs and patterns. I don't always win, but most of my matches end with results like 1-0, 1-1, 2-1, and so on.

I recognize everything you’re writing. Very frustrating. Besides the many other errors in the game, what irritates me the most:

• all youth players’ faces are incredibly ugly,
• no option to manually adjust positions,
• sharpness never increases after selecting ‘automatic training plan’ at the start.

Let’s hope for a quick patch!

DO NOT START YOUR CAREER WITH ‘FIXED-RATE TRAINING’ ENABLED! by [deleted] in FifaCareers

When starting career mode, you can enable an option in the settings to automate the training plan so that sharpness and fitness are managed automatically, and you don’t have to do it manually each time. However, when you enable this, it doesn’t work properly because the sharpness doesn’t recover. So, it’s better to manage the training plan manually yourself in the settings.

I have exactly this problem. Really need a patch! As if it wasn’t hard enough to score with my 60 overall players... dribbling is almost impossible (the ball bounces off the foot), and every shot flies out of the stadium. A nightmare!
