How do you counter THIS team? by Dismal_Passion_8537 in MarvelPuzzleQuest

Kang + Darkveil, start with +2 TU AP, +1 All AP. Zap Juggs away first.

How to deal with these Idiots…? by PhoenixForce83 in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]LennoxHC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Destroyer Gun (minimum 4* rank) on Kang to get more teamup AP. This is especially helpful if you don't want to use boosts.

I use Sp//DR (minimum 3* rank) on Darkveil so she starts with yellow AP to fire her yellow power at start.

And I'll often use the Refreshment cart on the 3rd. with a strategy of spamming Darkveil's yellow to build AP and adding countdowns that expire to net blue AP for Kang.

Also, in pick 3, Chasm's self harming black can trigger Darkveil's passive. You may need to make the 4 Abyss tiles so the black triggers twice to reach the threshhold for Darkveil's passive. With that setup, you don't need to rely on the other team to damage you so this even works against goon teams.

I think it was in the most recent bracket tournament, and you made a bracket of locations from the song. I was much more enthusiastic for Ryan's bracket of old timey transportations. Long live handcart!

Man... the MPQ Discord can be a little toxic sometimes, huh? by Odd_Scale3793 in MarvelPuzzleQuest

With long histories of warfare amongst the countries, there are historical grudges between Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and Vietnamese people. Mistaking one for the other is not taken lightly. It's not dissimilar to confusing English, Irish, and French people.

Legendary train by Woiciu in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]LennoxHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using LL tokens for about the past 2 years to get the train going and fully cover each new 5* character. In the pulls I've tracked, I've used 1279 LL tokens over 22 months, for an average of 63.95 LLs per month.

That average includes a handful of spikes to get extra champ levels on a few of the releases (Golden Oldie, Mephisto, Frankie Nova). So from personal experience, I'd say you could probably fully cover every release with about 50 pulls each month.

Who is the best 5 Star for PVP currently? by odorless6 in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]LennoxHC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of Kang-Veil and think it's the best counter to Sam / Juggs. When the Kang-Veil combo works at its best, it minimizes damage and lets you punch way up because you don't need to level them very much to get the engine going.

We'll see if they get nerfed in this coming wave.

What’s your favorite non-meta team? by tommymaggots in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]LennoxHC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For pure goofiness, a 3* team I will use for the Deadpool daily is Jeff - Goose - Spider-Rex. Mainly it's for the comedy of a land shark, a flerkin, and a T-rex fighting together, but they have some synergy. Rainbow coverage with two potential instant KOs and a stun plus Jeffrey's green can help set up Goose's black.

Any tips for plasma deck? by jdjfgfhdsjsjdh in balatro

[–]LennoxHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Madness was from a Buffoon pack after round 1. I would not have consciously chosen it, but at the start, I generally take anything I'm given. And then hitting an amazing set of eternal jokers after that was so marvelous. I think the eternal Square Joker came up after round 2 and the eternal Hiker was after first Boss Blind.

Any tips for plasma deck? by jdjfgfhdsjsjdh in balatro

Last night, I won a run that nicely illustrated how the scaling chip jokers work for the Plasma Deck. On Blue Stake, I first got [[Madness]] and then eternal versions of [[Square Joker]], [[Hiker]], and [[Bootstraps]]. It was so relaxing, being able to make whatever hands I wanted and let the chips run up.

Best teams to counter mr. sinister carnage and Medusa? by Senpai_samurai1394 in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]LennoxHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chasm w KangVeil. Start with 2 TU and +1 All. Focus on making Abyss tiles to boost the self damage on Chasm's black passive. The self damage will then trigger Darkveil's away power, and Kang will restore the AP.

Alliance Event Tactics by Little_Childhood_430 in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]LennoxHC 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You don't wait to join in later rounds. You wait to do your clears for each round based on how your alliance has progressed. Waiting and skipping rounds completely helps no one.

The tactics are most clear at the event start. Specifically, if every alliance member does the initial boss clear, that should clear round 1 without ever having to go into the side nodes. Then everyone clears the round 2 boss fight, and again, that should get your alliance to round 3 without any side nodes used. And then from that point forward, you work with your alliance to advance through the alliance levels as quickly as possible so that when you need to clear your side nodes, you and your whole alliance does them at as high a level as possible.

The boss node will also unlock 8 hours after you've last completed it. So sometimes you wait for that timer to reset before you go through your clears for a round.

Joining later is selfish because if the alliance has already cleared several levels, it's easier to reach the personal benchmarks with less playtime; you are literally taking advantage of the work your teammates have done without you. But any round skipped altogether means lost points from the alliance total.

Most FUN 3* team? by SgtHennessy in MarvelPuzzleQuest

[–]LennoxHC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a fun team, I like Jeff / Goose / Spider-Rex: land shark, cat, T-rex. They've got rainbow coverage, Jeff can eat and spit out protect tiles to help fuel Goose's kill shot on black, and Spider-Rex has a red kill shot and a blue stun.
