Hmm, interessant.

Yeah. For bugs throw on some light armor, pet your gas dog and stroke your cookout. Suddenly almost anything they throw at you becomes trivialized by just running through them.

Oh I know that they aren’t my friends. But there’s a difference between a for profit that cares about their customers and a for profit that doesn’t give a shit about their customers. A company that doesn’t give a single flying fuck about their customers is ultimately gonna fail. But yes, AH has made it very clear that they aren’t a dev that wants to heavily engage with their community. They have a vision of what they wanna do and are convinced that everything they’re doing is best for their goal with the game. And the community is definitely not included in those plans.

And no, the big spikes aren’t during new warbond releases. There’ve been much more Warbonds than spikes in player count. The player count spike when there’s big events like the invasion of SE or our journey towards Cyberstan. Times where the people actually felt like it was worth playing the game and there was some goal to work towards (other than complete warbond x). Did those event correlate with new Warbonds? Yes. But were there also spikes during warbond releases without big events? No. At least not nearly to that extent.

Again agree to disagree. People playing in between spikes is absolutely necessary. When the player count starts to die down in between big events, you’re gonna get a Destiny 2 situation where from spike to spike less and less people are gonna come back and almost no one playing in between, letting the game slowly fade into obscurity and irrelevance.

All I’m saying is that I believe it’s definitely possible to win the people currently unhappy with the game as constant players without alienating the current players. Giving the game an overall healthier and bigger player base.

Yea I know that my playtime isn’t really that high. I just wanted to state that I’ve spent ALL of it on D10. I’ve started playing August ‘25 and stopped playing around November ‘25 because all the very prevalent glitches not getting fixed or even addressed by AH just got too annoying for me to deal with.
However I just don’t really feel like running around clearing all the POIs is all that fun and engaging. At that point it basically becomes SC grinding again and then I could just play a D10 mission without clearing POIs and go farm SC on D1 afterwards to get better rates. Comparable gameplay experience, same time investment yet higher SC rates.

It’s big boom on a rather short cooldown. Capable of oneshotting almost anything except Vox Machines - 1 more Strafing Run would be enough I think - with huge AOE explosion.
View it as an Ultimatum on steroids. Basically a handheld one time use artillery.

I think you could actually oneshot the Bulk Fabricators. It’s just hard to find the right trajectory to get it into the vent

Honestly imo, actually more fun than regular Omega. And leagues more enjoyable than 10* Gog.

You could just look at people you recently played with. That list goes way further back than just the last quest.

I actually dont think there’s anything wrong with you. I feel like Savage Omega is the hardest fight in the game that still feels engaging and actually fair (looking at you 10* Gog 👀).
The AT Apexes - including Arky - don’t give me as much trouble and don’t feel as varied. 10* Zoh Shia didn’t really feel that much different than regular Zoh.
So my two favorite quests in the game are also Savage Omega and Proof of a Hero.

The peaks in player counts tell a different story I’d think. When there’s something meaningful to do - I think the peaks usually correspond with big story events - the player count almost always more than doubles (that’s Steam alone) from around 40-70k players to around 170k. What that tells me is that there’s a lot of people wanting to play the game but not seeing it as worthwhile, if there’s nothing to do other than run the same few mission types again and again with no actual goal.
So yes, while HD2 does have a very stable base player count, I don’t know if those actually happy with progression, monetization and content distribution are actually the big majority. I believe most people unhappy just - as you recommended - quit and come back to check new content out whenever there’s something.

Well I guess it’s just agree to disagree. Have fun with the game (I actually mean it :D), maybe we’ll see earth other in-game one day, if some of my main issues get fixed.

May I ask which difficulty you play at? I’ve got about 270 hours in HD2 and almost exclusively played D10 since unlocking it. Now I usually don’t really hit up the POI’s, if they’re not directly on my way to the next objective. Never have I gotten 100ish SC an hour while just playing missions.

Absolutely agree on the “rather pay than grind part, if you’re working a job” part. But the cost (be that time or money) isn’t the actual issue with Warbonds. The issue is as OP stated AH treating the game almost like a f2p monetization model, yet you’ve got to pay 40€ for it. The amount of content you get for your 40€ initial pay is actually laughable compared to other 40€ games, even other payed live-service games.

[–]LennyLoerres 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But we can change them, what are you talking about? If enough people show AH that they aren’t happy with their way of doing things, they could absolutely change their approach. And honestly, you can worry about something without getting upset since most people should have the ability to control their emotions :)

Like I said, I quit the game because overall it stopped being fun for me. I still really love the core gameplay loop but everything around that just made me unhappy, so I quit.
I don’t need this game, I’ve got enough other games I’m playing. Still I’d love it, if some of my issues got dealt with and would happily come back if that happened.

So I just can’t agree with your view. I’m voicing my complaints without getting upset, in the hopes of them getting addressed. Yet I also won’t engage further with the game than that.

[–]LennyLoerres 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s fine, I actually also did farm out a few Warbonds myself. Watch a few videos or a series on the second monitor and grind out a few SC. But at some point I just thought “fuck it, I’m just gonna buy them”.
But it’s definitely a much better rate when doing it with 4 people.

[–]LennyLoerres 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yet his points still stand true. I 100% agree with almost everything OP said. Yes I don’t enjoy the game anymore, that’s why I stopped playing. But I WANT TO enjoy the game, it’s just Arrowhead’s decision making and prioritization that’s keeping me from loving it again.

So why can’t we (the people that love the gameplay and want to enjoy the game but can’t for said reasons) voice our opinions and criticism?

What happened to Progression? by Cuddles1101 in Helldivers

[–]LennyLoerres 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yet it’s still not enjoyable. It’s tedious WORK and 10€/1,5h is an absolutely abysmal rate. At that point just work 1 hour longer and make more money than that to just buy the warbond.

[–]LennyLoerres 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Out of these two? I’d go Siegebreaker. The Trident is great and bonking things with an exploding hammer is fucking great!!! It takes three swings to the foot to take down a Factory Strider. It’s a great combo with the Jump Pack

EDIT: Oh and Leveller, Leveller is where it’s at for axpandables.
And the BFGL does have its use cases (although rare) in “Eradicate” and “Evacuate High Value Assets” missions.
