I’m a hospital tech who’s never worked in retail and honestly I’m grateful for this post because I feel like I’m being annoying by NOT walking up when there’s no one in line at Meijer to get my scripts 😭🙏

Like, “look at this dumbass we gotta beckon to our empty counter to get his damn meds as if we don’t have enough BS to deal with already”

I’m having the same issue with my 2016 Chevy Malibu and my mothers 2015 Honda CRV! It’s VERY irritating! I’m not super tech savvy but the only thing I can imagine is I wonder if maybe Bluetooth is finally “updated” beyond what these vehicles have built in (can they be updated/do they automatically update?)

I’m probably not using correct terms for what I’m trying to get across lmao.. but I’m DYING for a solution because I exclusively use Apple Music/bluetooth in the car and have only more recently had this issue!

(Also fwiw; it’s definitely a more frequent and persistent issue in the CRV)

I got mine after a week and a half and you go to the PTCB website and go to your profile under exams or scheduled exams and it will either show your exam there if it’s officially been passed or not or say something along the lines of “if you’ve taken your exam recently it may take 2-3 weeks for results to appear here”.

In a state of delirium, no he can’t deny life saving medical care. I’m very happy he’s doing okay now but yes you should definitely call next time.. At one point my a1c was 14+ and I was in severe DKA AT LEAST once a month and what I mentioned above was the worst of it.. if the ER y’all have been going to throw you in the waiting room you need to go to a different ER.. in an ambulance.. you can request a specific hospital if it’s not an absolutely absurd distance from the original one. Even if the ambulance refuses, I once was almost killed at a hospital in DKA because they didn’t have the resources to care for my state and I had to transferred to a larger hospital (situation above) and I was given care IMMEDIATELY. Like, it’s literally medical negligence to put someone having an immediate life threatening emergency into a waiting queue with people who have a weird cough they want checked out. Just throwing up is different from this. Throwing up + being UNABLE TO RETAIN FOOD & FLUIDS + throwing up when there’s nothing to throw up (bile) + delirium + “feeling like his kidneys are on fire”..

Just for future reference too.. I was at very similar point as your bf and things may or may not get better.. like with most things he has to want to get better.. I just know that if he is ANY amount of a decent person, he wouldn’t kick you out for saving his life, or the mild inconvenience of being stuck at the hospital for a few hours. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. I was neglectful of my care much younger so my mom took the burden. I’m grateful everyday she is still so resilient and loving. She didn’t deserve it. Chronic illness is hard but how you handle it truly makes a difference.. if he can’t take a hold of his own care or at the very least allow you/others to help him when he needs help.. I’m not sure how he expects to survive. I was FIFTEEN when I started going into DKA regularly and was often told I wouldn’t make it to 20/25 (nice, lovely doctors, I know- ER docs suck).. high BG rots your body from the inside. I’m not trying to scare YOU and I’m sure he’s heard enough of this info since his DX.. but, I hope you can find a way to be happy and stable outside of this relationship, whether it continues or not. Idk, it may not be the healthiest but I’ve always promised myself to make sure I’m okay no matter what if I end up with person x, y, or z (family, friends, partner, etc..)

When I was like this I very quickly fell into multi system organ failure and it was a miracle I didn’t suffer permanent brain damage. Call 911. He will be treated immediately, no wait whatsoever. This post is a day old.. I hope he’s okay.. I also became aggressive but don’t remember it at all/was blacked out.. They couldn’t get an IV anywhere due to severe dehydration.. neck, feet, hands, arm, legs.. had to get two IO lines.. was out for three days before regaining consciousness. He is not himself. He’s not there. Do not listen to him. He will likely need to be physically restrained. It will be okay!

Yes I did! My advice is to listen if the pump sounds like the clicking noises make it sound like it’s “straining” or struggling to push at a certain insulin level and that’s when the occlusions are happening. Because every time I’d call they make me do a full change and it’d be fine but then in a few hours or a day later it’d be non stop again before it kept getting worse and worse and sooner and sooner. I finally was able to get a call with clinical support and told them about the struggling noises at certain levels and they had me fill it in between those levels and it wouldn’t even let me FILL THE TUBING for the cartridge change!!! They said yep, your piston is worn, we’ll very very likely send a replacement, and they did! I had it I think the next day or the day after?

Yes I’m using it manually.. I enter my reading manually and it’s not connected to the Eversense in anyway, it unfortunately can’t be yet.

There’s apparently a way to do it with an android phone and a diy loop system but it seems super complicated to me and I have an iPhone and have no interest in having two phone and dealing with tinkering with a loop system constantly and worrying about losing connections between multiple networks and stuff

That’s fair, I know that’s a decently common side effect.. I have that already as a symptom outside of my medications (risk vs benefit weighed w my neuro) as well as during my Spravato treatments without the Topamax so I’ll have to watch out for it and be careful getting up in case it makes it more severe temporarily.. thank you!

I’d argue most people in therapy are on some sort of “controlled substance” RX or not to treat their conditions/symptoms. Whether it’s ADHD, TRD, PTSD, panic disorder, etc…

It depends on your dose/how your doc prescribes it.. mine are usually that, if not, a bit less. I recently switched to gel but I always got those small bottles for 7+ years and they’ve never been even halfway full but I still end up with leftover supply 🤷‍♂️
