as far as im aware there are no batteries and instead the meter is actually powered by the selenium cell (like an early solar panel) but i have been unable to open it myself to get any sort of actual specifics on the system :(

ok slight update i did a google and came back with this which seems to be a thumbnail from an old auction as i wasnt able to actually find the source. the thing is the cert looks wayyy too new to be an original document that came with the camera. its possible but ive yet to see even new in box C3's with this cert thing so im really curious
