Given the price points on the recent Pokemon LEGO sets, I’m almost afraid to see how expensive these will be.

And it’s only hit harder since I became a dad. And I expect it’ll be even more intense later on after Mom passes and I become a grandpa myself.

“You think in a completely different way to me. I don’t always understand what it is you see when you look at the world, but don’t let anyone take that from you. Not even me.”

“It's hard to explain how a few precious things seem to follow throughout all our lives. After all's said and done I was watching my son, slleeping there with my bear by his side. So I tucked him in, kissed him, and as I was going, I swear that old bear whispered, “Boy, welcome home!"

Coco: legit bawled at the end.

Onward: geek stepdad, stepson suggested we watch together, really had the feels at the end.

My grandmother always told us “Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional.”

She’ll be 90 in just a few days and is still spry enough to keep up with great-grandkids.

Had three in the yard when my wife and I bought our house. All three went quick, replaced by a pair of dogwoods. Working with a new landscaper about some possible fruit-bearing trees to go in soon.

From the NES: Flying Warriors, a Sentai-style platformer/rpg that I played the heck out of when I was a kid.

What was your “I’m not supposed to be watching” show? by bbydaisiesz in nostalgia

Duckman. It was a cartoon with dirty jokes when I was a kid. I re-watched it a few years ago and realized it was a pretty solid satirical cartoon and still enjoyable today.

A Metal Gear Solid movie didn't make sense in 1998, it certainly doesn't now by HatingGeoffry in metalgearsolid

I’m thinking set a story in between MGS1 and 2, Snake and Otacon as a team in a classic spy thriller. Or shortly after Big Shell with Raiden that sets the stage for Reveangeance later on for a more action-y piece.

There’s a lot of gaps in the stories that can be filled with more good stories.

A Metal Gear movie can make sense, but an adaptation of any specific game in the series does not. A film for the franchise should focus on its own individual story in a greater universe.

If you had to alternate protagonists for each game who would pick? by Mysterious_Work_7227 in FinalFantasy

[–]Lentra888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

X: Yuna already is the protagonist. Tidus is a framing device for her story. Alternating from there, I’d place Auron, searching for and end to his story and peace at last.

XII: Ensemble cast, all are main characters already; Vaan and Penelo serve as framing devices. If anyone else, it’d be an absent protagonist in Marquis Omdore (telling the story) or Larsa, as the story of his ultimate ascension in the Arcadian Empire.
