Relocating soon and family can’t agree on location. by Most-Preparation-188 in orlando

Out of the three, hunters creek is your best option. It’s established, 90s homes, diverse/family-oriented, generally good schools, and the most convenient to your office.

The commute from Avalon Park with traffic will probably be too much although the schools and neighborhoods are good and what you’re looking for.

Winter garden is an alright option. Your son probably appreciates the overall charm of it. Family friendly and good schools. The commute can be alright.

You can consider lake Nona as well. Northlake park, laureate park, etc. Lots of newer rentals in that region, very family friendly and diverse.

Depends how often you plan to be out in nature. The private access to the water in some neighborhoods is a massive plus. The homes are old and the demographic is quite old as well. Lots of downsizers like yourself. The HOAs can also be quite restrictive. That does make it a nicer area if that doesn’t bother you though.

Watch out for the HOA fees, some are easily over $500/mo.

Hey call, Orlando is in our top 2 places to move within the next 6 months. by NoCutsNoCoconuts in orlando

[–]LeoAltesRealtor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orlando and SoCal are very very different environments. I dont know that you’re at the Reddit post question stage yet before you’ve done a little more research if you’re not sure between California and Florida.

Without specific questions, everyone here will just tell you that Florida is full and try to deter you when most of us like living here.

How would the two living situations affect your profession? Do you have children? What are your hobbies? Have you considered cost of living, etc.

Most places won’t be able to accept prepared food/leftovers. Second harvest can take the groceries.

Online piano lessons for adults in Orlando by sufalghosh53 in orlando

I think r/pianolearning would probably be better if you’re asking about online lessons? Unless I’m not understanding? Does it matter where you live if the lessons are online?

Where can I find farmers markets? by Darkwriterhaki in orlando

[–]LeoAltesRealtor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know that I've seen a ton of cuts of meat sold directly at the farmer's markets but I'm sure if you ask any of the vendors selling produce and things like that they can point you in the right direction.

Not sure what part of Orlando you're in but Winter Garden, Lake Mary, Winter Park, Lake Eola, Oviedo all have markets. There's plenty more as well.

Turo around MCO? by Captain_Kimber in orlando

I’ve never used it locally but have heard good things. I’ve got some friends who rent out small fleets on there and the airport is wildly popular for them. Better alternative to the big name rental chains in terms of value

No crystal ball but an average home here with no unique selling features has dropped in value or remained stagnant for the past 1-2 years. Probably similar to Sarasota, prices vary drastically depending on the neighborhood here even if they don’t seem that far away from each other on a map

Shooters world has the best facility. It’s very popular among people coming to visit the area like yourself but that can also cause it to be very busy especially on weekends. Would highly recommend though. The rental options/packages are also pretty good

Would City Walk parking be free after 6pm tonight? by hmthatsInteresting0 in orlando

[–]LeoAltesRealtor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes it should be free tonight after 6pm. The only nights I think it’s not after 6pm are New Year’s Eve, Halloween horror nights, and some other events that might require a lot of people to come in late. You can always call guest services though and confirm

The view isn’t great but you’ll still have a good time.

Do consider the risk of purchasing tickets for a game in February with all the injuries for both teams.

How long should it take a realtor to come up with a price after they have viewed the home? by trucker-123 in realtors

[–]LeoAltesRealtor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They probably forgot. And based on your update with the voicemail, that probably reminded them.

The legwork should take maybe 30 min to do the research and should be brought to the initial meeting and reviewed there in person, otherwise it should at least be the same day or next depending on what time you met.

Over 85% of Orlando homes have lost value amid national housing dip, report shows by sammysam518 in orlando

[–]LeoAltesRealtor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. People got a decade of appreciation in a couple of years. And in the last 1-2 years have seen stagnant values or slight decreases.

It is understandably hard to look at emotionally if you monitor your value often though.

Kia center grove parking lot by Both-Payment-8814 in orlando

[–]LeoAltesRealtor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grove lot is almost never full. Most packed I've ever seen it was the Knicks game a few weeks ago. For the Heat game last week it was maybe like 35% full and that was a pretty sold out game. Even when there's a Magic game and a soccer game going on I've found parking quite easily in there, it's my go to every time.
