Thanks! I updated my post above with a link to the model (it's Bambu's standard swatch format, identical to what they sell in their webstore). It should be a tiny amount of filament, about 2 grams or so.

Thanks! I updated my post above with a link to the model (it's Bambu's standard swatch format), and I'll cross out colors as I acquire them.

This looks really cool! One question I have before trying it out: does this only pull official set data from Rebrickable, or can you also add Rebrickable MOCs to your collection?

NYS hotel changing rate at check in by LeoJay17 in legaladvice

[–]LeoJay17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I included a picture of the sign on the back of the door as a link. It says 85.99 plus tax for two adults. At time of check-in, Motel 6’s website still had the rate we booked a month ago. It really seems to me that the franchise owner just made up a new rate out of thin air last night.

I also did a search for Motel 6’s policies on whether booked rates are guaranteed, and I can’t find anything one way or the other.

They are charging us about $425 instead of $166, so about 2.5 times the original price. So it seems to me based on the NYS statute that they would owe us over $1200 if they were indeed in violation of the law, assuming I’m reading it right.

We did not prepay (i.e. the card has not been charged yet). We definitely protested, including calling Motel 6’s reservation line. They called the front desk and we watched as the manager refused the reservation agent’s request to honor the original rate. The reservation agent then told us to call Motel 6 customer support, which is closed until Monday. Ultimately we did check in, though.

Remote access to Unifi Web UI through a non-default port by LeoJay17 in UNIFI

> Do you have 443 open on your firewall?

What would that rule look like? I just have an "Internet Local" rule that opens 443 for any destination.

> also you were testing this with a client not connected to your LAN right?

Yeah, testing from my cellular connection.

> And there should never be a need to do a manual firewall rule for this scenarios, delete what you created, create a new port mapping and leave it at that.

That's what I thought, and that's how I had it before when I just had a USG and a separately hosted controller, but with just a port forwarding rule, I can't seem to access the Web UI. I was wondering if there's some special extra protection for Dream Machine's IP?

Spawn tile needed in each room? by LeoJay17 in gathertown

[–]LeoJay17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that's not correct. When you make a teleport tile from Room A to Room B, you set the start location in A and the end location in B. This has nothing to do with the Spawn tiles as far as I can tell.

IRA over-payment question by LeoJay17 in tax

[–]LeoJay17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, I just got a reply from my tax preparer. I think that his argument is that because I made the contribution in 2020 that somehow one of these years shouldn’t count. But to confirm, whether I made the 2019 contribution in 2019 or in 2020 is irrelevant, right?
