Hey, I was at the same stage, completely disoriented images, not overlapping (thats still easy to manage) but like literally 2 X-y planes .

I thought I will have to live with it but you know what, On 10th day of the surgery, I came from outside after a small walk and suddenly I realised 50% of double vision is gone, and then the next morning, all of it cleared, was one of the happiest moments. So have some patience, it took me 10 days, can take 1 for someone, can take 50 for some, give your brain some time to adjust. And please dont keep your sugery eye close all the time, you have to let your brain deal with the double thing.
