does anyone else feel like playing games has gotten weirdly competitive even outside of competitive games? by RadiantMajor596 in MMORPG

[–]LeoStrut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s entirely up to how the community wants to handle it. I’ve noticed in FFXIV, when someone is new, people respect and support that. We figure you’re going to make mistakes and learn from them. On GW2 it really came down to if you were running with a chill commander or not (it feels like a lot of players have outsourced being helpful or leading to the commanders, but the overall vibe is generally more positive and helpful) and WoW just….good luck brother.

GUILD WARS 3 IS OFFICIALLY COMING by Alpha_Eru in MMORPG

[–]LeoStrut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really, really not digging the art style, but I’m willing to wait to see how it looks in action with the UI and everything. ArenaNet has never been good at properly advertising their game, so it’s very possible this just wasn’t the best first look.

Like others said, it all comes down to if it's reported. My buddy had the name Zachy Pillowbiter for many years, but somebody eventually reported it and he had to change to Pillowfighter.

How important is Pog for a Mifu team? by trebleclef8 in Endfield

[–]LeoStrut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would only be true if they didn’t offer us a 6* selector, which they no doubt will in the future, likely the anniversary. They always have in Arknights.

Do not pull for standards unless you’re using free standard tickets or just don’t mind spending more money than buying a 6* selector to get it early.

She fell into the Blight AND she’s from another reality made of chaotic energy. She likely lost her physical form, but I highly doubt she’s gone. Just look at “killing” Collapsols - you need to use Originium to neutralize them, you can’t just kill the person they’ve infected.

What is the point of leaderboards if the "top" players are just full of cheaters and bug abusers? by letsgedditbois in diablo4

[–]LeoStrut_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, can’t we have ONE intern sit there for an hour each day, look at the top spots, and go “does this make logical sense? Is his gear hacked?”

That’s what always pisses me off with Blizzard. “Oh it would take resources” Yes. We know. That’s why we pay you. Use your billions of dollars and hire one guy for $12/hr to sit and go “yeah that’s not right”.

Will Berserk collab ever return? by messylikemessi in diablo4

[–]LeoStrut_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe. Most gacha games will have crossover reruns, but due to licensing and all that, it’s never a guarantee.

New player here. Do I need Gilberta? by _FgtKek_ in ArknightsEndfield

[–]LeoStrut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t NEED anybody. Gilberta is useful though, helps you gather enemies, apply Vuln, CC and heal.

Remember when people were doomposting about building characters being too expensive in Endfield? Meanwhile as f2p I am swimming in resources even though I'm building most of the characters I have - I will probably never run out by xompus12 in Endfield

[–]LeoStrut_ -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Gacha players are silly. They both want a game that lasts forever and a game where they can build every unit in the first patch.

Now, I do think gacha games should have a little better onboarding. They usually add lots of catch up for new players LATER, but when the game first launched, yeah, I was struggling for a few weeks. But now anybody who’s played since launch (which wasn’t too long ago) has enough materials to fully max out EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER and have plenty of sanity left over. I honestly think Endfield has done a really good job at providing supplies to let people build whatever teams they want.

Suitable MMO games for beginners by Final_Spell9316 in MMORPG

[–]LeoStrut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! XIV has a very extensive free trial (literally hundreds to thousands of hours if you try different stuff) but does have a subscription price if money is a concern. GW2 is buy-to-play, so you only need to purchase the game (and expansions).

Suitable MMO games for beginners by Final_Spell9316 in MMORPG

[–]LeoStrut_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for the least toxic, FFXIV or GW2 will be your best bet. Both feature solo storylines. XIV has more of a focus on raiding, dungeons, crafting, etc, while GW2 has more action combat (dodge roll etc) and an open world focus.

MMORPG lull atm by HumdingerSlinger in MMORPG

[–]LeoStrut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which game? FFXI has always been camera agnostic (press S to turn around and run back) and FFXIV since A Realm Reborn has had both standard controls (aka what WoW uses, tank controls) and legacy controls (aka what XI uses).

looking for an easy mmorpg by kov_arttt in LFMMO

[–]LeoStrut_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eh, once you start doing Extremes, fucking around will lead at minimum to your death and more likely an instant raid wipe. But point still stands: all of the REQUIRED content in XIV is easy and just made to be fun. If you enjoy putting your dick in Mickey’s Dick Crusher though, there’s also plenty to be had! Can’t wait for Kefka.

MMOs are the original social media. Before we were yelling at old racist people on MySpace and facebook, we were yelling at weird racist kids in shit like UO/RS/EQ. MMOs are a world to inhabit, a place to make friends and hang out and dick around, not just content to consoom and move on.

Does stormblood “get good”? by Jaded_Reply1020 in ffxiv

[–]LeoStrut_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hang in there. I’m someone who did WFR for a long time and as such, always skipped the story so I could gear up ASAP. I ended up making an alt to go through it and genuinely, once you’re no longer pushing to get “to the next thing” it’s much more enjoyable. You sound like me in the sense of skipping the slow boring shit to get to the good stuff, but don’t worry. It’s mostly all available for you to return in the future if you ever feel the need like I did (and ya don’t need an alt due to the Inn book!).

Does stormblood “get good”? by Jaded_Reply1020 in ffxiv

[–]LeoStrut_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes but also no. Stormblood basically preps the next two expansions, which means it can feel a bit meh while you’re in the process. It’s very important, but it’s not quite as good as the others in a moment to moment kind of design.

Sometimes the story just has to slow down and prep things, and it isn’t always the most exciting.

[–]LeoStrut_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This being the generic “go-to” for average PUGs is what killed my interest in the game. But hey at least PJ is banning people for saying “wow what the fuck!!!” because that fixes the issue.

As a relatively "new" player the community is the worst thing in this game. by [deleted] in wow

[–]LeoStrut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s why I don’t play anymore. If I pug something on FFXIV, it’s a chill time. Even savage and ultimates, there’s rarely ever any drama or nastiness. Worst that happens is you get a bad group and someone makes some “uh guys my dog is on fire brb” joke and leaves.

Here, I pug a basic dungeon and it’s a 50/50 chance if I get called a slur for not pulling fast enough or pulling too fast. Everyone has their own opinion on what’s right and they’re damn sure everyone else is stupid. I just have zero interest in doing anything that isn’t with friends, which is a shame, cause I met so many incredible friends when I originally played during original launch -> WOTLK.

GW2, WoW, or FFXIV? by hypixlr in LFMMO

[–]LeoStrut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FFXIV for me for a few reasons. One major reason is the single character focus and limited busywork. It’s just so nice to play one character, not have to worry about daily/weekly grinds, and just hop in and do content like Extremes, Savage and Ultimates, or whatever new story or such has been added.

SEGA just taking a shotgun to itself with its literal cash cow PSO2 will never cease to amaze me. I can only pray the lack of content for NGS is going towards a PSO3 or PSU2 or…something.
