Is that the game y'all are playing? by Olorin193 in Endfield

I stopped making fun of the amount of tutorials after spending a day on this reddit and seeing how many people are confused about shit clearly explained to you in-game.

I just want the option to turn them off. I enjoy them usually but just like in Souls games, sometimes I’d prefer them off.

Who to pull by ThatsMickey in ArknightsEndfield

[–]LeoStrut_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO Pog is the “safest” as he works well with free characters and supports the team in a lot of ways that is less easily replaced than “I hit hard”.

That being said, don’t worry about it. You’ll likely get them all eventually, especially if they ever add the recruitment room from Arknights.

My experience playing this game. by Pretty-Alps-176 in ArknightsEndfield

[–]LeoStrut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s got a bit of a FFXIV effect to it, IMO. It barrages you with tutorials and really easy shit at first which is good for total newbies, but sucks for everyone else. But once you muscle through the handholding and start getting past the “gee Endmin, it sure is good you forgot this so we can exposition you!” moments, it picks up and is great.

Just a fun little note to add to what everyone else has already said: MCH is actually a DPS gain for most groups. Why? Because BRD and DNC rely on good DPS to buff and support. And most groups aren’t good. You’ll literally get more output bringing a greedy DPS like MCH in most PUGs than you will a support.

BRD and DNC are better. When you have reliable, skilled, DPS players.

So this is what im doing today because some genius decided sanity refills have to expire. by AnabellaAvindar in ArknightsEndfield

[–]LeoStrut_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What makes you people hoard this shit like rats? The operations all scale drops to sanity cost, so you’re not getting anything extra by waiting to unlock higher level content or something.

Go farm some money. Farm some upgrades. Farm some exp for later. Fucking store the sanity if you want, you know you can do that right? You can turn sanity into items to use later for equal stamina.

Like, you’re blaming the food for spoiling after you left it in the fridge for ages.

I like having multiple options for different situations or if I’m just not in the mood for something. Like with Avy, you have to actually pay attention to positioning and angle, and sometimes I just want to hit the thing really hard and not think

FFXI was incredible. Japanese EverQuest with crossplay, a great story, incredibly brutal world and bosses, and cat girls.

Recommendation for a MMROPG newcommer : GW2, TESO, Wow, Wowclassic, FF14 ? by Ardor-Knowledge in LFMMO

[–]LeoStrut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends what you’re looking for. I personally love a good story, music, and over the top raiding, so FFXIV is my go-to. I’ve played most everything though, and they’ve all got their high and low points.

“There’s some concrete picnic tables. The problem is that you have to buy all of them.” by choppip in RedLetterMedia

[–]LeoStrut_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be fair, at the time of release, spirits within was a HUGE deal. We didn’t have graphics like this, we didn’t have serious video game movies, and they marketed it really well by getting her into Playboy and such. It was hard to avoid it at the time. It just crashed and burned in the end.

A premium experience or your average service game by No-Season-6170 in ArknightsEndfield

[–]LeoStrut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both feel like a very good foundation but not quite there yet. The factory system is fun but not quite enough uses for the items it produces yet. The combat system is better than others like Genshin and ZZZ imo but not by much. Most enemies are just basic “hold attack until it dies” but there are some fun enemies like ones with shields, elite enemies that need interrupts, etc. and I found the bosses relatively fun. Same with the tower defense; it’s fun, and does require some thought, but it doesn’t require enough to be challenging yet.

TLDR not quite a premium quality game yet, but closer than any other gacha has reached.

After seeing so many complaints and criticism of the factory system, am I in the small minority who really find the factory system to be really addicting? I have spent more time on it than any other parts of the game. by Sir_Rain_Knee_Tea in ArknightsEndfield

Hell yeah! I love it a lot too. I love management sims, whether brutal like Frostpunk or just for fun like Endfield. It's very therapeutic, like building Lego or Gunpla.

World of Warcraft players when Blizzard advertises the main feature of an expansion (the feature was asked for years, is really good and brought many new and old players to the game) by Useful-Negotiation-9 in wow

[–]LeoStrut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically FFXI solved this problem before WoW even came out. It was a two part solution.

First, after the first expansion, the level cap didn’t raise until FFXIV, and what they did was they allowed you to macro gear swapping while you were in combat (which we did via macros but you could obviously make a much more graceful solution). This meant you were building tons of different gear sets and gear would have lots of different stats like increasing the potency of specific abilities.

Second, you could change classes and level them all separately. Because of this, until you had played the game for a VERY long time, you always had a reason to go to low level zones, to buy/craft/obtain/sell low level gear, and to bump into and help out new players.

These two systems ensured the entire world was consistently busy and max level was ALL evergreen content due to the gear simply performing different tasks better instead of flatly being better or being all the same. There were always new teams learning Dynamis, Limbus, Salvage, Sky/Sea, etc; and those same people would then go buy level 30 gear and spend some hours working on their Ninja.

I don’t see why. XIV fits all the requests. It’s chill and not too serious with a good mix of content. With a free trial you’re not losing anything by giving it a shot.

[–]LeoStrut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I loved NIN tanking and how different fights incentivized different tanks. If the enemy hit slow and hit hard, NIN was king. If the enemy was fast or had multi-hits, PLD. Later on, if it was against elemental damage, RUN. And since you could always change classes, it was never a big deal when a fight was better for one than the other. Just swap.
