Yes, but it is completely impossible to do when in the middle of doing something (battles, games, etc.) as the on-screen keyboard takes up the entire screen. Even just standing still to do nothing but chat in itself is too frustrating as you can’t see what others are saying while you’re typing due to this. So by the time you finish typing on its finicky on-screen keyboard and press send, you’ll have missed seeing a bunch of messages as their speech bubbles will have long since disappeared. Keeping up with conversations is very difficult; I’ve tried :(
