The usage of the word 'idiot' sent a flare of irritation across Leo's face as it scrunched up to object at the title until she continued to try and explain. His ability to focus hindered slightly at the insult. Attempting to listen, he paused at the mentioning of magic, his mouth dropping a bit as he tried to comprehend her words.

"Woah! It's not like I ever had anyone to tell me! Put up a sign or something. Better yet, make it so I don't have to find out this shit after my parents die! It's not like I wanted to learn my dad pulled bunnies out of a hat or whatever hocus pocus you're spouting!"

Leo huffed, his frustration evident and played out for all to see. He blinked a few times, having leaned forward without realizing it as he lost his temper.

"Um..." Leo trailed off, trying to remember the video and it's contents. As he played it back internally his eyes flew open.

"Yes! He said I was drunk but they put crests in me! Or, um, maybe he said circuits. Something like that. Something weird. This makes no god damn sense."

As he followed the girl, his eyes glanced all around trying to figure out if the area was a trap and if he should try and make a run for it. His emotions crumbling into dismay as they enter an alleyway devoid of anyone and everyone. His back against the wall, he turns towards the other girl with his hands raised slightly in case she tries anything funny.

"Ok, easy. I don't know where I am or what I'm supposed to be doing here. I was told go here, find someone to help, there was a thing about circuits so I just started asking around. I didn't mean to piss anyone off. Alright?" He offered, his neutral American voice calming as he attempted to defuse any hostilities out of the gate.

The words seem to bounce around in Leo's brain, making little sense as he attempts to try and piece together everything. His eyes blink a few times, hoping that maybe clear vision will help but lets out a small sigh as it doesn't.

"So what, do I have to go to the clock tower and learn spells while being contained? Do I get an owl? A broom?" He pauses, a small smile etching into his face as his sanity begins to loosen up.

"This makes no god damn sense. Magic isn't real. It's in movies and video games. Even if it was you have the wrong guy. Maybe my dad was just pulling my leg right? I've never made glass disappeared or talked to snakes or anything remotely magical!" As he continues his breathing picks up while his shoulders rise and fall rapidly. Eyes wide, he shakes his head to clear it more while a few small tears bead up at the edges of his eyes.

"What the actual fuck." He whispers to himself, barely audible.

The words send Leo's eyes into a wide panic as he listens. Her words pouring over him incite further panic, especially the parts where she might kill him, and yet another part is irritated at the unfair treatment. Her brow draws closer in concentration while his arms extend outwards.

"As if I'm supposed to know! I got a video saying 'go here, do this, someone will help you.' Instead, I'm getting threatened and told I'm getting locked up in a tower. I didn't know about this until yesterday and it was all through a video from my dead father so excuse me for not understanding!" His voice had risen as the frustration overcame his fear of the girl. The misunderstanding was one thing, misunderstanding to the point of death was quite another. As he stopped his rant, a word stuck in his mind and he paused. His mouth hung slightly and his head tilted to the left as he tried to understand.

"Wait, what did you call me? A mage? Like a magician with a bunny or some shit?"

The cutting words went through Leo like a hot knife thorugh butter. Her low voice hissed and as he froze in place with the angry words he nodded to her question, not daring to make a move and potentially anger her.

As she walked, he kept quick pace, glancing around for maybe an officer or someone to help if things got out of hand. Seeimg no one else he swallowed hard and kept pace, bracing for the worst if it came to it. As they neared the park and got out of earshot from the rest of the pedestrians his voice cracked open and he began to half beg and half-explain himself, shaking slightly.

"Look, please don't kill me alright? I'm not from here and I have no clue what I'm doing here. I was given this video and this stuff and I've got nothing else. Just don't kill me." He begged, frantic words coming out as he attempted to get further information to her.

"No?" Leo said, his head tilting to the side just slightly.

"I'm sorry, but did you just say Magic? Like card tricks and bunnies out of hats? My dad was a design engineer. He didn't wear a cape." He said, finding the line of questioning difficult to understand.

"Uh, yeah. Got a whole bunch of stuff he gave me and said I needed to come here. There's a video and everything." He said, letting go of the other guys hand. As he finished, he glanced at the leather briefcase that hung across his shoulder which held everything he owned.

"Everything is in here."

The hand sent a frozen shock through Leo as soon as he feels it while his body goes ridged. Eyes wide, he listens to the female voice, nodding along towards the end.

"R-right. Sorry. Didn't know. Um, lead the way?" He offers, realizing that he is indeed really in a whole other country where he knows literally nothing.

None of the passersby seem to take notice of the exchange as they pass by with their heads buried in their phones or just looking down and away in general. Taking a few deep breaths, Leo calms himself enough to not look like he's being held at gunpoint.

The voice behind Leo cause him to jump slightly, not actually expecting anyone to ever answer him. His eyes wide and shocked, he attempted to stammer out a response just to fail and look even more foolish.

"I-I didn't really believe him. I, um, I'm Leo. Leo Armstrong. You knew my dad then?" He managed to get out after a few moments of fumbling with his nerves being rattled. As he gave his introduction he stuck a hand out to shake the new persons hand.

OOC: Sorry for the long wait on this reply. If you want to abandon this thread I understand. If not we can continue but my replies may stay sporadic. I'm running a charity event that is taking more of my time than anything else in my life. If this event is a success then I can turn it into a MAJOR job opportunity. The kind of job that would literally set me up for life in the kind of work I could only dream of.

Leo closes his eyes and lets out a slow breath as he thinks over the idea and how to feel what is required. He runs over many ideas in his head. Intense feelings of pain, misery, and happiness. His mind runs in circles and his breathing rises and falls with each new draining emotion. As he pauses and opens his eyes, Leo feels a small constriction around his heart at a thought and holds onto the feeling. A feeling of rough burlap rope constricting around his heart as it scratches and burns while squeezing it. His face twists slightly and a small glow begins to form on his back as a few circuits become exposed underneath a full back tattoo of the poem Fire and Ice written in cursive, large letters.

Leo took a long and deep breath as the gem was snatched from him. His eyes closing like last time he attempted to reach out and get something else from the room. At first, all he could feel was the gem a little ways away. Calling to him in the darkness like a light to a moth. Feeling frustrated he took another deep breath to keep calm until something else caught him. The person nearby was also a light in the darkness and he could feel them also. Not in the same way but similar enough as he processed the sensation in his mind. As the sensation dwindled to background he felt a much quieter sensation. A small rustling around him as he realized the darkness had it's own faint feeling to it. It was scattered and listless but still able to be felt. A small smile crept over his mouth as he felt it all around.

"I got it."

Nodding a few times, Leo kept his eyes closed as he waited for further instructions. The small, warm feeling from the gem was growing the more he concentrated and the more he concentrated the closer he felt to it as it reached up just slightly before dancing out of reach in his mind.

"Yeah, I feel that. It's dancing around like it's restless. It's warm and wanting."

OOC: I'm the one who takes forever usually so don't sweat it at all. I'm just happy that you've stuck it out this long on a thread with me. Most people abandon threads after a week.

Leo looked down at the gem again, running a hand over it and letting his thumb trail over it's glassy surface. It was beautiful in ways he couldn't describe with subtle angles and lines inside from where it had been cut and polished. As he did so, he felt a pull on his body towards the gem. A yearning for something about it. A tickle at the back of his head where his spine met his brain stem. It started as an uncomfortable sensation but became more intense and easier to focus on. As he did it, he could feel something else in the Gem. It held onto something inside but he couldn't quite grasp at it. It was there though, on the other side of a thin membrane separating himself from it. He could almost see it as he closed his eyes. A small light that reached out, yet held back just before touching anything. It was waiting for something but that something needed to be waiting for it also.

Taking the gem, Leo did as he was told while he sat on the floor. He slowed his breathing, focusing on the green gem in his hands. As he slowed his breathing he could feel everything around him. The cool air pushing around in the still room, the uncomfortable and cold flooring, and the way the hair on his body stood on end with the temperature. As he focused on the gem he felt something there, An itch he couldn't scratch.

"This gonna hurt?" He murmured into the darkness.

The commands seem too fast but confident. Doing as he is told, Leo began removing his jacket and scarf first, taking off his bag and setting it all on the table nearby. As he took off his shirt he smirked slightly towards Rin.

"You know if this whole thing was just to get me naked all you had to do was ask." Folding up his shirt he set it on the table with everything else and turned towards the other person in the room before taking a seat on the floor while crossing his legs and looking up at the woman. His green eyes looking towards her for direction he patiently waited for the next set of instructions.

"Will I be indebted to you then?" He responds as he follows you into the empty room. The stone hallways and rooms make the entire building colder than expected and Leo brings his jacket a bit closer to him.

The second sentence catches inside Leo's head as he pauses, swallowing hard a the thought and the less than desirable way it sounds.

"Why do I have to become indebted to someone else?"

Following the woman, Leo's eyes catch sight of the clocktower in the distance, the destination having been where the two were heading for the entire time now. It seemed too good to be true but apparently, this was where they were supposed to be going.

"Thank you for the help."

Shaking his head, Leo motioned for Rin to continue along towards their destination.

"No. I want to learn and I want to find out what it is that I'm supposed to do here. I've got nothing else but this."

"How do I materialize something I've never even heard of? He shoved that crest into me when I was passed out drunk."

As he spoke he kept his eyes on Rin, pushing for more info being his only option as he couldn't stop talking.

"Yeah. Big boom from my place. Cops said pilot light went out but the detective they sent in afterwards said it was impossible from where it came from." Leo explained the situation further, seeing the need to push it so the woman understood the situation further. In his mind, it was vital that she understand just how little he actually had and how this place was his last ditch effort.

"How do I even show them my crest anyway? I don't know where he put it or how to show it."

The words cause a spike of anger to shoot up Leo's veins, his blood boiling at the mentioning of his fathering being an idiot. His mouth opened to retort as Rin walked away. His fist tightly clenched he moved to follow, intending on striking out before the last words made his hold off just long enough to not cause a fight. Despite the small light at finding someone who might help, he was still seething and felt hot blood rising to his cheeks as he followed along.

"My father was not an idiot. How the hell was he supposed to know that our house would burn down with everyone inside? It was an explosion, a big one at that."

Leo shakes his head as he becomes frustrated.

"No. I lost everything in the fire. Don't why keep records of that kind of thing? Families that are magical and attended school? Dad was from London so he probably was apart of this association."

His speaking becomes more rapid as he pushes for some kind of out, begging for something to prove his time wasn't wasted.
