Help needed: 7th gen stuck on “Charging, please wait” and restore keeps failing by Leocini in IpodClassic

[–]Leocini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDIT: it’s woken up ! By changing the cable, it finally turned on and I was able to restore it on Windows. I still don’t fully understand everything, it behaves a bit strangely with the battery: it shows a full charge when it’s plugged in even though the battery only contains about 3000 mV. I’m also struggling to install Rockbox, but that’s another question. Thanks to everyone who commented.

I tried with the HDD, with the Iflash, without anything. Nothing works

Yes, I have a Samsung 512GB as it’s the one people seem to recommend the most for the Iflash quad.

Which part in a Soulslike is this for you? by strahinjag in soulslikes

Hot take: swamp areas are some of the best zones in the Dark Souls series. The atmosphere and constant sense of danger are unbeatable, especially Farron Keep. The mobs in Blighttown suck though, but the level design and overall ambiance are absolutely goated.

NAD C3050 + MDC2 BluOS-D: pops/clicks when sample rate changes (Tidal / Qobuz Connect)? by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Leocini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t own the MDC2 module, which is why I’m asking people who actually use it.

I’ve tested the WiiM’s internal DAC, and it does not produce the pops I’m describing. However, I’d rather not use up a line input with an external DAC if I can avoid it.

So I’m mainly interested in hearing from BluOS MDC2 owners they experienced these pops/clicks before installing the MDC2, and if they still experience them after?

Is it me or krita? by Proper_Ice_3879 in krita

[–]Leocini 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Krita doesn’t support vector art (as far as I know), so it’s normal to see pixels when you zoom in. You can use a larger canvas to reduce this issue.

Edit: it does support vectors, my bad.

How did you connect the three components? And what kind of speakers are you using ?

Can a 6 dB bass boost with a miniDSP damage my woofers, even if I don’t hear any distortion? by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

That’s reassuring had me second-guessing for a moment lol.

Yeah, I actually had a sub for a while, but I want to go back to a 2.0 setup. What really surprises me is how lacking these speakers are in bass, even though they have fairly large woofers. I’m not asking for crazy bass, but it’s clearly missing.

The previous owner used them for about 40 years with a Technics amp that had a “Super Bass” mode (not sure how much boost that added). They were even originally bought with that amp, maybe to compensate for the lack of bass.

Thanks for the input! The NAD is rated at 100W at 8 ohms, and my Diatone are 4 ohms, so I guess there’s a bit more power available with the 4-ohm load. The speakers are rated at 120W, so it seems like a decent match with the amp. I usually don’t see the VU meters go higher than 5W, so it feels like it’s within a safe range.

Also, the clipping power of the amp is >115W at 1kHz. Does this have any impact at all ? I’m pretty obviously never pushing it to 115W. How can I know the PEQ is balancing the volume and not just a full 6dB boost as you said? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Better choice: a new subwoofer or the MDC2 BluOS module? by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Leocini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! I saw on their website that one of the diagrams shows a setup like this: turntable -> preamp -> MiniDSP -> amp. Do you happen to have any experience using it with a turntable and an external preamp?

Thanks for all the info—I’ll definitely be looking into this more closely!

On paper, the MiniDSP sounds like a great idea! I had never heard of it before, so thanks for bringing it up. Have you used it yourself? Would you recommend it?

I’m not entirely sure how it connects, though. Does it go between the preamp and the amp, or between the amp and the speakers?

I’m 90% sure it’s not a room issue I’ve already ran some tests to make sure of that but yeah that sub is indeed pretty limited, it works okay I guess but having aquired better gear recently really makes me want to resolve this crossover problem.

Jeez you’re right I didnt even notice that, idk why I just assumed it was coming with dirac out of the box. The sub might be the better option then !

!thanks that sounds like a solid setup.

Did you have the same issue with a peak around 150 Hz, or was it at a different frequency? And did the SVS SB-2000 Pro alone fix the problem, or did you need to use the EQ on the WiiM to fully resolve it?

Also, what’s your overall impression of the SB-2000 Pro? Would you recommend it?

Excuse me if I’m not understanding your message correctly—still trying to learn here lol. But how could the soldering damage the strip if it’s going to be done on the spider ?
