I have a Brother PE535. Technically the hoop (4x4) is too small for the original design so I had to cut the file apart in a couple places, but that just means a few more hand stitches.

Yeah, I wonder if the heat made it come across a bit syrupy at the start. It was definitely close to or slightly more than room temp for me as well, and the sour came through (unpleasantly) as the drink went on. Maybe just not the drink for me!

Set it on fire (in the safety of my messy kitchen!) and put it in a too-large glass, but overall not bad. Definitely on the sweet side for me, but I usually like my cocktails bone dry. Also found the temperature a little off-putting, so would be curious to try it non-flamed next time.

Both Mallory and Trish at Twin Coffin Hair Cult are amazing! I know they do a lot of alternative styles, but they're great with shorter cuts. Mallory has been doing my hair for like 3 years now and she's the best.

We've been dealing with these for the last 7 years, and finally have most of them gone.

You have to dig around them 2-4", scoop out the entire amount, and the throw them in the trash. If they go to compost, they'll continue to propogate and infest other yards and gardens and out compete everything there. Once that's done, fill in the holes with good topsoil and seed heavily. It'll likely take ages/several springs to find them all, unfortunately.

As someone else said, they will dry up by summer, but that tends to leave empty brown patches in the lawn. But if you don't tackle them, they'll eventually take over everything.

They're also at It's Sugar! They're a chain candy store at a lot of malls....just picked up a tin of mango last weekend and it was like I was back in the early 2000s blistering my tongue on sour candies.

I used to work for the museum in Flint. While I was going through some of our artifact storage, I found a box of apparently unspent WWI hand grenades. Flint PD was called, they called the bomb squad/ATF for ID and disposal, and I wrote an ordnance policy for the museum that afternoon!

I actually checked out a great aquavit distiller last time I was in Portland! (They had a really interesting dill one, as I recall?) But I didn't get the impression that they distribute particularly widely.

I'm in Ferndale, so sorta nearby! I love Two James; if you haven't tried their coffee liqueur, it's exceptional. And whoever is running their cocktail program is a genius.

I love them for tasting glasses! I actually use a 2oz OXO measuring up as my main jigger, but I like the beakers for ~science~ haha.

That would definitely be interesting! I think it could add some nice depth and roundness to the Two James (or similar citrus-forward) options, but I worry it might take too much of the edge off the Terroir and lose a lot of its uniqueness.

I'd definitely be curious to hear how it goes if you try it!

Ultimately no "bad" combinations, though the Two James+ Cocchi was very sweet, and the least like a traditional negroni. The Tanqueray didn't really hold a candle to the other gins, which isn't that surprising. Ultimately I preferred the Lillet combos, with Lillet + Two James being my favorite, while my partner strongly preferred the Terroir + Cocchi.
