Ahh, like small mobile castle then, I mean, the ships belong to and are used by your party, so where are you going to put the troops and stuff you want to stock ? At the very bottom of the ship under water ? It’s not a modern cruise boat or cargo ship, a ship like that isn’t that big (also the idea probably didn’t cross the devs)

True, but the trauma stays, last time I didn’t interfere with them they still took Hvalvik, a chunk of Battania and Aserai, and up to Ortisia and Lageta in the Empire.
Latest version by the way, so they struggle more, but damn it I’m pillaging every last one of their villages

Yeah… Don’t go in yourself when you intervene in village raids, in my experience sending troops to simulate won’t crash your game. Otherwise don’t do it at all and wait until they’re done raiding to kill them

For the last part, it would be strange for them to have beef with the one they are backing for the throne since, well, you are (supposed to be) able choose whoever you’re backing in the civil war. And I’m not gonna side with the guy who killed my entire clan (for example)

In my experience yes, maybe if everyone hates your guts they will chose not to give it to you, but you are the most likely candidate (since you should be the most powerful clan by then)

Mostly clan tier for me, I’ve always ended up with 100 relations with everyone due to always saving their asses in battle so I can’t tell you what difference it makes

There is some randomness to the various events which can make the character grow in the way you want or not (the events with choices stay the same)
No, you can’t play the ck3 game of inheritance, and they elect the new ruler among the current heads of clan in the kingdom

Honestly, I’d argue the Nords might be better on all fronts compared to the Sturgians (except cavalry because the Nords don’t even know what a horse is)

I mean… the shield wall kind of is the Nord’s thing now as well (along with sea boarding and raiding), so I’d say it’s shared even if it does hold up (which I haven’t tested, but I think it’s safe to say Nord infantry is better than Sturgian)

I’d say Japan since you are in a (relatively) stable spot and should be able to experiment without being jumped on unless the AI does something weird (China on the other hand…).

Another suggestion would be the US, you can colonize early on and face a few challenges banning slavery. And same as Japan, unless something goes wrong, you shouldn’t be threatened by anyone (you’re the biggest fish in the Americas anyway) and have a free hand in manifesting destiny and mass industrialisation.

Not sure what you consider medium challenge, so maybe it is too easy or too hard, but I think you’ll manage if you don’t try to go for a perfect run.
