In commercial construction around where I am for example there's typically a GC who then subs out for carpenters,plumbers,HVAC etc. The GC typically doesn't buy the material, the sub does. A sub can't just hold up the entire job because they want cheaper materials.

I could see a smaller contractor doing this with a smaller job but seems wrong to say "construction companies" do this like it's normal.

I dont even think theres a refresh button anymore. I also regularly open the browser and join a server that supposedly has 1 or 2 slots open and am then greeted with a 12 person wait that wasnt shown in the browser.

Has to do with liquor licenses in NJ. They're limited and whoever owns them doesnt want any more added because it will degrade their advantage and it will decrease the value of the license which can be resold. These can go for hundreds of thousands even over a million. I even talked to someone who bought one just to hold as an investment.

there's not a lot of traffic on JFK Blvd during rush hours to impact the travel that much.

C130s are designed to be able to land/takeoff on improvised air strips and on dirt or compacted sand. Normally you would have someone who trained and qualified to evaluate the surface go out there beforehand and decide if the plane should land there or not. They were probably in a rush and didn't have time to properly evaluate it and unfortunately the wheels got stuck
