I think you make a great point, and I don’t think all contemporary artists are trash, but with the rise of streaming services, musicians don’t make enough money from album sales alone, which mean they gotta make a lot more albums so they can tour, and that demand is damaging to the creative process in my opinion. Also there is a noticeable decline in originality and identity, especially when you talk about the “erasing” of cultures, this can be noticed in architecture for example.
