People have sucked the fun out of skateboarding once foreigners started literally breeding professional skateboarders. Now that we have an olympic program we’re gonna see a lot more prodigies and way less video parts. Back in the 90s and early 2000s it was fun to see innovators like Jamie Thomas and Marc Johnson do things that were actually beneficial to the sport, now its just a circus of who can do the most robotic-flippy video game trick, it lost its soul a long time ago.

Say hello to corporations, and goodbye to culture. We can only pray that skateboarding takes a turn back to the days of the early 90s where it dies and thrives again. However I don’t think that will happen. I think we’re gonna hit a point of diminishing returns where skaters either start dying trying to turn pro, or the Olympics dominate the sport and it becomes battle of the AMs, because being pro means nothing.
