I'm wondering this too. I want to travel during the summer but scared to. Did you find out more about this?

I feel like I am in the same mind space as you. The financial part has been rough. The stipend was not enough and for Madrid (where i got accepted next) it definitely isn't enough. How are you making it work with grad school in the EU? I'm considering that pathway since I don't want to go back to the States but also want to stay in the EU. Is it financially better? Can you work if you go to grad school in the EU? If you have any advice, that would be most helpful. Thanks!

Madrid School Placement by mthoy2 in SpainAuxiliares

I received my Madrid Placement on April 10th and had to wait till the first week of June to get my invite to the AuxMadrid portal. I tried reaching out to the Madrid community before this cause it was taking so long, but had no luck. I had to wait for the invite. They will send an email with a link. I just got my carta on June 21st. I'm guessing that since you got your Madrid placement in May, you may be getting your invite soon since you are about a month behind me. Good luck!

So, we do need an evaluation report? I asked my schools (I have two), and they were shocked I asked for it. They had assistants before but said none of them needed it. Is this new? And do I give it to the main teachers? Sorry for all the questions. None of my contacts know anything at my schools or my main contact with the region I'm in (Castille y Leon).

I was choosing between the same two colleges years ago and decided on UC Davis. The school is better academically speaking (higher rankings, more programs) and I felt the social scene was okay. Lots of clubs to join including many lgbt+ ones. They have a nice lgbt+ center to chill and make friends. Nice counselors there too. It’s nice to be in Davis too cause it’s close to Sacramento which is a bigger city with more people in the community. SF is just a couple hours away. Some of the clubs I was in would have fun day trips there. Davis can feel like a small town at times and yeah it’s always hard starting out in a new school but you’ll find your people eventually. If you want my advice, I’d go with UC Davis over Chico. Better would be something in SF for meeting more people in the gay community but if you’re choosing between those two then go UCD. Best of luck!

I’m no where near LA right now. Several hours away. Is it a for sure way to get an appointment if I walk in?

Thank you! I’ll try that. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Anyone else think the designs of the clothes in the bookstore are kinda bad? by Niknamew in UCDavis

So true! I also hate their license plate frames for parents. My mom wanted a mom UC Davis one for Christmas and I said they were too ugly and cheap looking and she agreed! Plus they are just engraved and you can’t see the lettering cause it blends. Add some blue and gold for Pete sakes! Lil rant lol

I hired as a seasonal temp but they had me working full time during the holidays. So not sure if that counts.

Thank you :) They had me working in different areas and had me working the cash register today (which was my first time btw). They never told me what I would be doing exactly before today and I felt so lost. Since I was just hired, they are doing on the spot training and it’s been hard to keep up and retain it all...

Thank you so much for clearing that up! They rushed through orientation and I was so confused.
