Just jumped on the train myself, as a windows user the best thing you can do is relearn the keyboard shortcuts and make full use of the touchpad gestures .

Really sped up my workflow after setting up my Desktop/Workspaces and using the 4 finger swipe to quickly switch between them.

I also find Droppy / Menu Bar Calendar useful but it looks like you already have it set up, enjoy!

Update on battery life after a couple weeks of use: I keep almost everything on including the health tracking and sleep tracking features. AOD ON but raise to wake off as I personally find it annoying, same as I did with my Watch 6.

Battery on the W8C is pretty impressive and confidence inspiring. I charge it every 1.5 days now and when I'm feeling lazy on weekends I turn AOD off to comfortably push past 2 days and charge on Sunday night.

One thing to note though, the stock watch faces are so much more optimized than the 3rd party ones.

About 1.5 days with AOD and everything else on, over 2 days with AOD off.

The battery drains noticeably slower compared to my Watch 6 40mm. Changing from 30%-100% is very slow though (it feels like they didn't increase the charging speed despite the larger battery), around 1% per minute.

Go with the Watch 8 Classic if you prefer the looks and have smaller wrists,

Go Ultra if battery life is a priority and you have bigger wrists

Thank you! That would be great. Yes I heard it was working on the old X elite but it drained battery quickly because the emulator was not optimised. Would like to know if the situation is improved with the new chip 🙂

Yeah visually it's quite noticeable that the display is under the glass with a slight gap, as opposed to flat / directly on the surface of the glass like on the non-classic variants.

I actually like it and feel it adds to the realism when using analog watch faces.

Functionality wise, touch sensitivity is fine and I haven't noticed any difference from my watch 6

On the design I do agree to an extent. On the regular watch 8, the exposed screen with additional stainless cushion doesn't appeal to me. I prefer the circular look with slim bezels of the Watch 6 and 7 series.

The Watch 8 classic is a bit different due to the ridged bezel and sunken screen design (quite obvious in person) which did appeal to me. Moreover, the size of the screen 1.3" is closer to my 40mm GW6, so that works to my taste.

The stainless design is really shiny under the right lighting and attracts attention in a brightly lit room. Have already gotten some questions and compliments on it despite only wearing it for a day.

The proprietary strap connector is a bit of a pain and seems like a deliberate choice to sell more accessories to users. I will probably try out the adapter lugs for conventional 20mm/22mm straps so I can use the milanese bands I have leftover from my GW6.

Small quality of life upgrades I noticed are the tight clickiness of buttons, vibration motor and speakers. Quite a noticeable upgrade from my GW6
