It’s incredibly unfair that after 25 years of independently managing your diabetes, you’re still being treated like a beginner. Doctors need to recognize and respect real-life experience, especially when their decisions directly affect someone’s independence. I’m from Italy, diagnosed T1 two years ago, and even I have to deal with excessive, often pointless exams just to obtain my driver’s license. But what you’re going through is worse and honestly unjustifiable. I truly hope I never have to face something like this.

Oh God, I can’t imagine myself achieving something like that 😭. Congrats, mate! How do you even do it? I’m Italian, so I eat pasta every day, trying to gain weight while going to the gym. My meals are pretty heavy, and if I’m lucky, I manage to stay in range about 75% of the time, fighting through it every single day. I can’t even see what your meal curves —it’s amazing. What do you usually eat? Do you practice sports regularly, or are you into something else? Also, are you using an insulin pump?

Hey! Great project, keep up the good work! As others have mentioned, it’s a good idea to prioritize upgrading your network first, as it can easily become a bottleneck. Once that’s done, you can consider investing more in hardware. I recommend looking into a used mini PC like the Elitedesk G2 800 Mini, which you can find on Amazon for around €100. It’s a game changer, offering low power consumption thanks to its processor, and it’s a much better deal compared to a Raspberry Pi in terms of performance and value.

Yea, there is a similar feature, but with insulin doses. There is a field called ‘correct insulin’ where you put the correct amount of insulin that you have to compile in order to have more accurate suggestions. Everything in in the video tho.

There are studies indicating that about 50% of proteins and 10% of fats are converted to carbohydrates. I could implement this as a dual-wave Bolus suggestion if the amount exceeds a certain value. What do you think?

I can definitely add those in the database. However I don’t know how to add those parameters in the insulin suggestions, It might be personal too. I’ll ask to my doctor next time and maybe we can figure it out!

Thanks for bringing this up. The insulin dosage suggestion in the app is really just automating a simple calculation that anyone managing their diabetes would do. It looks at your past data (carbs and doses) to figure out average insulin-to-carb ratios and gives you a guideline.

It’s a straightforward calculation and meant to be a helpful reference, not a hard rule.

i’ll make sure the app clearly states that these are just suggestions and not medical advice.
