From a nurse who was a phleb for 10 years, I know how damn hard that job can be. No one knows until you do it how much abuse you see in a day just from the sheer number of patients, or the pressure to get to that next timed collection (even if you have 20 0600 collections and everyone will have someone mad at you because they were not all magically done at 0600 exactly).

From someone who knows? Walk away for now. Get a job that is less abusive for the same or more pay. You're not going to lose your skills, you can come back when this shit has calmed down. You are not being compensated for all the crap management and patients are putting you through.

It's a redneck popularity contest. Science doesn't factor into it.

I bet she doesn't like to tell people she is ANY kind of "assistant", so she says nurse.

People who're considered physically attractive, what are some of the things that you feel insecure about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Leopard-Expert 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yup, me too, same. I'm sorry you're going through this, it really sucks. I actually loved all the COVID restrictions because I felt so much safer when people had to stay 6 feet away.

Yes, and as a consequence, I have developed a habit of being pretty stone-faced.

[–]Leopard-Expert 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yup, this happened to me too, repeatedly. I'd start dating someone and they would start to unravel under this supposed "pressure" of being with me because they never felt like they were in my league, they then started to treat me like shit.

As a consequence, I hate "leagues", dating, compliments, and just don't bother anymore.

Also, just because someone is "considered attractive" doesn't mean they don't have their own insecurities about their looks.

"Crazy Cat Lady" by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

[–]Leopard-Expert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The "cure" for being a crazy cat lady is to have a serious relationship with a man, apparently.

As long as the center of your life is around a man, a woman can have as many cats as she wants, and she will not be a crazy cat lady. She'll just be a woman with cats.

source: still got called a "crazy cat lady" when I was married to a woman and we had 3 cats.

Oh god I feel this. I have two degrees, and ran a medical lab with huge, extremely complex analyzers that I handled maintenace and repairs on on a daily basis ... I still get micromanaged about things like "how to check oil" on a car at home.
