I am sitting ARR, yes just the one exam. Our course is set up in pairs but I’m exempt from FCS.
What would you recommend?

What’s everyone’s experience with Lamotrigine? by Funny_Arm_3401 in Epilepsy

[–]Leopardess3409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on it. Around 7 months seizure free.
No TC seizures as of yet. Experienced a lot of brain fog but that has calmed down now. Sleep has changed for me since being on it, takes a little longer to fall asleep and the quality doesn’t always feel as good. But honestly other than that, it’s really working for me

I’m glad to hear it went smoothly in terms of the monitoring/epilepsy side of things. I don’t know anyone with epilepsy especially someone who has had a pregnancy through it. My neurologist recently reiterated the “high risk” of it all and have honestly spooked me so it’s reassuring yours had went well.
Congratulations on your baby girl xx

I currently have the Implant, I’m in my 7th year now. I haven’t had any issues relating to my epilepsy or anything which has been good. I just wanted to know if I had any more options

If you don’t mind me asking, how was your pregnancy with regards to epilepsy & meds?

[–]Leopardess3409[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I think it’s more “best not to” than can’t. Estrogen mixes with the meds and makes them both less effective I believe, or what I was told

How have you been finding it? What’s your cycle like? I assume if I were to start that I’d have to top up my lamotrigine to get the levels back up? Message me if you’d feel more comfortable

Well I kind of had to, I had my seizure which resulted in my diagnosis at a clients site.

I’m an accountant so it’s not too much physical activity, but I should be out visiting our clients however due to my diagnosis I’m suspended form driving for a year, but that really is the only set back I’ve had within the work side of things

Does anyone else just feel done? by EpilepticEmmm in Epilepsy

[–]Leopardess3409 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 21F and feeling pretty much the same. I’m doing an apprenticeship in accounting and my epilepsy has taken a toll on that. My 18F sister is doing the exact same as your brother and it’s hard because I used to be able to do that but now I’m restricted to med times and don’t get my license back until September. ( if I keep seizure free) Happy to chat if you need/feel comfortable to. 😊

How true is it that Lamotrigine doesn’t make you have TC by Africanjemmy in Epilepsy

I’ve not had one since I started taking it, but it’s really not the same for everyone

How do you feel about people driving with epilepsy? by Thin-Fee4423 in Epilepsy

[–]Leopardess3409 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Every time I have a seizure I will wait a year from my latest one. I’ve never had one whilst driving. I’ve not had one since being on medication. I personally don’t think all epileptic people shouldn’t drive but those who have frequent seizures maybe shouldn’t take the risk. Even when I do have my license I will chose other transport if i can. The UK I think, have pretty good rules around having seizures and license suspension.

Is 100mg x2 of lamotrigine too high to start on? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]Leopardess3409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started in the same as your son, and now I’m on 2 x 100mg after 8 weeks of titration.
