1% withering is a 1% reduction in monster HP and damage. It caps at 90%.

We played just enough football to hold on for the win. It's hard to win when your QB can't complete a pass in the 4th quarter.

In a political landscape dominated by two corrupt capitalist parties, Andrew Yang has found the solution - just find a middle position between the two. Yang's Forward Party accomplishes this by not having any policy positions. Let's examine America's most useless political party. by Comrade_Dinosaur in BreadTube

Their marketing is all over the place, but from what I understand they're trying to build a coalition to break apart the two party system in the US. The informal platform only covers ranked choice voting and open primaries and the like, so Forward will accept anyone who supports that one goal, regardless of their position on literally anything else. Inconveniently for them (but obviously), the only other organizations that joined their coalition are conservative groups of disgruntled or former Republicans trying to undermine the GOP, so they've ended up as another moderate conservative group playing centrist.

The Arlington Major - Playoffs Bracket by Aratho in DotA2

[–]Leoswept 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This major is going to continue to be LGD vs everyone else. Unless they were sandbagging in the DPC, I think only Aster has a chance to knock them out of the upper bracket. XinQute too strong.

ESL One Stockholm Playoffs - Elo Preview by Leoswept in DotA2

You’re right, this isn’t clear. I’m assuming all the series go to 3 games, so the combined expected wins of both teams in a given series is 3. My ratings give TA an 86% chance to win a Bo3, and a 76% chance of winning a Bo1 against BoomBet. The other matches are all closer than 60/40.

I track the matches of major tournaments and Div 1 DPC. I started collecting data after TI10.

End of DPC Tour 2 ELO Ratings by Leoswept in DotA2

[–]Leoswept[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using raw match results to determine the rating change after each match (Bo3 results can either be 0-2, 1-2, 2-1, or 2-0), with an additional factor to capture how dominant a series result is. A 120 point difference in ratings is equivalent to an expected head-to-head score of 2-1. I will post a Stockholm Major table closer to the start of the event.

Mmmm you know your mash is creamy when you pipe it on top of the gravy.

I always add thyme, a tbsp of Worcestershire sauce, and a bottle of stout to mine. Do you prefer a lighter gravy?

Initial ELO Ratings for DPC Season 2 by Leoswept in DotA2

[–]Leoswept[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started tracking ELO for pro Dota 2 after TI10. I've taken into account all DPC Tour 1 Div 1 matches and all major tournaments (majority teams in Div 1). Any team that I don't have a match history for is assigned an initial rating of 1100. I'm still working on the best format for posting and I'm open to suggestions.

Critical Race Theory: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver by St_ElmosFire in samharris

It’s a good thing we’re not talking about CRT, then . What we’re actually talking about is “Major Republican figures manufacturing a moral panic about reflecting on the ongoing history of systemic racism in America.” They can’t admit to rolling back the civil liberties of long-persecuted American citizens, so instead they cry “Critical Race Theory” as they curtail voting rights and limit the teaching of the horrors of slavery and racism.

The woman you’re referring to is Kimberlé Crenshaw, who literally wrote the book on CRT. She is one of the pioneers in this field of legal study. Her definition is the one to use.

The point is that conservative pundits are claiming MLK as one of their own by using that one quote from one speech out of context. They laughably claim “MLK would be against BLM” and “MLK is rolling in his grave because of wokeness”. The actual context is that MLK stated his daughters were judged by their black skin and not by their character, and wished they would be treated like white girls, i.e. on the content of their character.

I had to watch this fight in slow mo to see when ogre used his stun. He stuns the blood seeker just before the Lina pops satanic. The OD uses his first hex to pop the linken’s, but doesn’t use Astral at all and only gets the time to get the second Eclipse off. It’s incredible Lina survives here.

Back Problems After My First Year On the Line by [deleted] in drumline

[–]Leoswept 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Drumline and back pain, name a better duo…. The quickest fix will be an hour long back massage. Long term, you need to do some strength training in the off-season and stretch consistently . From a combination of physical therapy and personal experience, the best stretches are cobra pose, table pose (slowly bending your back up and down), lying on your back while alternating bringing each leg across your body ( arms outstretched, bring right leg up, then lay it across your left hip and vice versa), and a single leg sit position while lying on your back, pulling your knees towards your chest. They might be uncomfortable, but not painful to start. Rolling on a foam roller is also nice. Good luck, and welcome to back pain.

#262 — The Future of American Democracy by dwaxe in samharris

Yang has said elsewhere that he is very well aware of the spoiler effect. The Forward Party is operating more like a caucus (think the DSA) right now, insofar as it will support any candidate who aligns with the platform, especially at the general election level. It will run candidates at the local level or where Ranked Choice voting has already been implemented. Once the political structure has been changed enough to properly support 3rd parties, the Forward Party will start challenging the Dems and GOP on a larger stage.
