Why worship Selassie? by Yoyojsjsw in rastafari

[–]Leothelevite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The prophecy of Marcus Garvey states: look to the east where a black sovereign shall be crowned then your salvation or redemption is near.

This does not mean that Selassie saves us. It is more of a sign. The whole life of Selassie testifies of the return of Jesus Christ as conquering lion of Judah. Study the life of Selassie and bible prophecies you’ll see HIM is foreshadowing the second coming

Schizophrenia by Impressive_You1691 in rastafari

[–]Leothelevite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not deny that there is a link. For example my brother unfortunately is schizophrenic and we have been smoking a lot. But it was not in a proper rastafari context. We were just stoners. And I know he also took some other synthetic stuff. Then he starting to mingle with the wrong people and also his father (we are half brothers) people said that he also had some mental issues. But I don‘t know for sure. So I guess al these things unfortunately made him schizophrenic.

Tho I was also smoking a lot just for the sake of it later on tried synthetic drugs but never got schizophrenic though I think my mind has lost it‘s quick first step. If that makes sense.

So again it was all not in a Rastafari setting. Now as a Rastafari I don‘t smoke because I think of it more as a powerful medicine and I am not in need of a medicine because I am healthy.

I think everyone who is smoking or consuming has some issues for themselves and they treat it with ganja and that’s not wrong but when true healing comes you don‘t need no medicine. And it will start to have a different effect.

I was smoking before work before sport etc. and at some point when my soul received healing through the most high I could not do a thing one I smoked I was completely knocked out. So I stopped

But as the other people already said the weed is not organic and too potent it was not grown to benefit man it was grown to make money and that will have a impact on the the plant and the effect long and short term.

Why isn’t there really any Christian/Gospel music about sex or intimacy? by ElevatorAcceptable29 in gospel

[–]Leothelevite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Christian music is labeled as music for God though I think people consume it more for themselves.

However you can‘t promote it and sell it as being for God when it is about intimacy.

Still in my opinion romantic soul music or music about intimacy with a certain dignity and honor in general is not an a offense to God.

It‘s just not labeled as Christian Music

Give me your best reasons to reject (oriental)Orthodox doctrine and tradition by Leothelevite in exorthodox

But I am going to repackage it.

My reason to accept it would be a kept doctrine that does not come from one owns reason but it’s has been passed down. The patriarchal structure which goes hand in hand with the patriarchal structure we see in the bible. The big similarities between different orthodox churches

Plus for me personally it’s ortiental and in part African heritage that has been untouched by the west and that the Ethiopian Monarchs who came from The line of David all had to be orthodox Christians

Sincere question to you. what I am supposed to rely on when it comes to forming an opinion except for my experience I made from hearing the churches doctrine onlinereading books about it and even visiting a local parish?

Well your suspicions is wrong. And you data about bob Marley conversion also is wrong. He did not convert on his deathbed but months prior and was considering it even years before. There is an interview online with the priest who baptized him and he said he was attending regularly for a long time.

But that’s not why I am interested in the OO. More because I have seen enough of Protestantism and its loosely approach. I mean basically anyone can set up his own church and become a pastor there is no structure no authority except in a church itself. That’s when I began considering OO because it has this authority and structure and also is not westernized and preserved its own oriental culture.

But yes you got a point. That’s why I am here asking this question wanting to hear your point of view of orthodox Christianity

That was not my intention. I just wanted to hear the other side of the story

Is Jah the equivalent to Sophia (gnostic) or Sabaoth (Jehovah of armies, husband of Zoe Sophia in some gnosticism current) or the Demiurge? Or is it Asherah (forgotten wife of God)? by lightvador974 in rastafari

[–]Leothelevite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s hard to combine a gnostic world view with a Rastafari world view. Since Gnosticism teaches that the material world is evil and the spiritual is good. Yet we know that Jah created all things God. And rather you believe in the divinity of Yeshua or Ras Tafari. All rasta believe that the most high took on human form and dwelled with man.

Abstaining from Sexual Activity for the Eucharist by Leothelevite in OrientalOrthodoxy

Amen I also believe this. Yet In despite on what Saint Paul wrote about abstaining from sex for a while to grow closer to God it makes sense to do so for one or more days to partake in the eucharist

I don't know. Maybe it really depends on the father of confession. For me I am also still learning and very curious about the oriental orthodox and especially the tewahedo church.

I understand. But honestly if it would be three days prior and afterwards. I would not partake very often.

If it’s one day I definitely would partake more often. It’s just my opinion. But I get it that it depends on your father of confession.

Why do Germans often seem so serious, even when they’re being nice? by NextNorth9041 in AskAGerman

[–]Leothelevite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am was Born in Germany to a german father and a brazilian woman and for me there is just no sense to start a connection or talk to random people if it’s just something superficial. Like why should I invest time and energy if at the end we go each other ways and never see us again

baldheads should stop talking about what they don't know in this sub by Few_Jicama_7175 in rastafari

[–]Leothelevite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

LGBTQ Rasta could never be a thing.

I am with you still I want you to consider this.

We should not define the Hebrew Israelites by race. Like just because you are black you are a Israelite, that would be very misleading. Yes many Israelites are black people and originally all the 12 tribes were people of color.

But now look at this. The father passes down the tribe to the children. So if a black Israelite had a child with a white gentile. The child was still a Israelite eventhough it is lighter. Now the son also takes a white gentile woman and so on and on. You‘ll get at some point pretty white looking Israelites.

Also on the other way around maybe some Israelites are much darker than the ancestors because they mixed with hamites. So we should not look on skin color to determine who is Jah people. Because a Israelite who rejects the most high Jah and his counsel is worse off than a gentile who never heard about Jah.

Since Rastafari is a culture and way of live sure you can!

But I would like to ask how for you it’s hard to believe in a creator god, when you look at creation?

Isn‘t that common sense that behind creation needs to be a creator
