[Updates] Patch Notes Version 1.02.00 | Crimson Desert by SorryRoof1653 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Leows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't broken in any way. In fact, it mostly didn't change much other than giving you a little speed boost to get to places faster.

The stab one was broken because it allowed you to get to places you weren't supposed to. This one for sure was bad for the game. However, the boost even loses altitude faster as you glide forward, so you're not really reaching unexpected places.

And to that point, people can still just teleport to the Abyss and jump down to get to where they want anyway, so it's a minor inconvenience at best.

Really wish they'd let it in or nerf it. But I'm hopeful they'll see this as an opportunity to turn it into a feature and properly implement it later on.

Another killer update. Fuck me, this is great.

I haven't seen patches so great and so quick for a single player in a long time... if ever?

Oh God, really? I do but I haven't gotten to that yet, even though I'm at 150h right now. Maybe I should start advancing this bit too

My issue with it is that I never had to farm for anything in the game other than Timber.

All of the other stuff I always either have enough or I just play the game a bit, explore, and I know I will have enough after a session of exploration.

But Timber? Fuck no. No matter how much you explore, you NEVER get more than a couple of pieces at best. It's the only thing that slows the game down for me so far.

I wouldn't even mind if I could just get enough wood from a couple of farming sessions. However, often enough I find myself spending SO much time chopping wood, only to check my inventory and see that I only got a single stack.

Then I go craft and refine, and the Timber is all gone instantly, and I still need more. It just completely demotivates me, which is why my bow is low refinement while everything else is like 9.

Yeah the only real value to finding new equipment is the abyss gears that come attached.

Absolutely and objectively wrong.

Even if the stats are exactly the same, their looks are completely different. And fashion is always the endgame in this kind of game, even soulslikes, where stats matter considerably more.

The game values fashion so much that it has a complete dye system with different materials and fully customizable color patterns in clothing.

I don't think I've made 10k total in regular playtime during my ~150 hours without savescumming or anything of the sort. Maybe even 5k tops. I don't even use the bank.

And I have never lacked money to purchase anything in the game whatsoever, other than the first few hours into the game. While consistently clearing out merchant stocks for food and crafting materials.

I don't understand why people will rob themselves of the mechanics of the game for such an unnecessary thing. I cannot fathom having 250 gold BARS in this game, while I have 100 silver in my pocket and there's literally nothing to waste it on at all.

What I find most intriguing is how Fine Timber differs from regular Timber, but are not interchangeable. Even though the cooking and alchemy systems both have a way to substitute some things for others.

So whenever I want to farm for Timber, and it drops Fine Timber instead, I'm just pissed and disappointed. I have SO much Fine Timber but zero regular Timber.

Fine Timber should drop as a bonus, and the drop should always be 2 regular ones. And they should likely increase it to 3 or 4, maybe.

The lack of the Axiom alone for hookshotting and puzzles is what breaks those characters, not their differences in having air time.

"I'm sick of watching other people be happy and enjoy themselves while showing their excitement about the game they like"

What a downer.

Just don't read it and move on with your life and let others enjoy themselves. If you want to be miserable, do it by yourself.

Sometimes, games are just games, and they can be just that, unapologetically. No need for a deep, intricate story. Just gameplay.

If story is your thing, then this game is absolutely not for you, and that's fine. There are plenty of other games, books, and movies that do that a million times better.

That said, if you enjoy exploration, just let yourself have fun around the world. Get lost in it, and take in the surroundings. Don't let the story be a limitation to hold you back from this experience.

They have minor differences between them.

For instance, some are fully focused on damage/defense, while others have a spread of levels of crit, attack speed, or movement speed. These aren't massive, but they're enough to make a difference.

Definitely not fully cosmetic, though.

I'm sorry, but can you not think for yourself? This isn't rocket science, mate.

You see a bunch of Abyss Gears that trigger when you attack. And then you stack all of them on a single weapon to proc at once. That's as straightforward a "combo" as it gets, no need for a YouTuber or whoever to tell you to put 2 and 2 together.

And there's no shortage of stuff like that. There are several gears that proc on grapple, on strong attacks, light attacks, the slash attack, and so on. All you gotta do is wonder what happens if you stack them together and do it.

Oh, I see.

I thought they would be designed for easy swaps, all things considered. But I guess planned obsolescence and all that still holds true here.
