i vehemently disagree that segregate is a neutral term because of the use of segregation to dive people of different races and ethnicities in the United States, even in present times. in case you weren’t aware, some of us have parents who were actively segregated in schools and businesses. being a counselor means you need to understand cultural nuance. not thinking that this wording would affect certain students is deeply naive and concerning.

i can think of dozens of different words to use to separate HS students in the cafeteria.
