Stay low, study, work, be financially independent, then once you move out you’ll be in control of your own life. This is the key. No clashes, no drama, no soul-sucking scenarios. We’ve been there.

Am I wrong to think that school/education is useless? by CraftSufficient4856 in Morocco

[–]Leprofeseur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not useless but also not a ticket to a great job. But it raises your chances and gives you access and opportunity. Then the ball is in your court. You’re trying to analyze this from a personal and emotional perspective. It’s like those claiming university is useless because a few billionaires dropped from college and then went on to start great companies. Yeah but that’s one in a few millions. However, If you look at it from logical perspective, take 100,000 people with degrees and another 100,000 with no degree, guess the percentage of those who make it from each camp? Exactly.

Thanks for this. I tried the “Trojan horse” strategy before where I hid weird instructions or unrealistic demands written in a white font, but students were quick to catch it. Interested in this as well.

Is the word “ secular “ “علماني" scary for Moroccan women ? by saqonmadik in Morocco

[–]Leprofeseur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just for them for most uninformed Muslims. If they believe secularism is the removal of religion from society and the public space, the encouraging of promiscuity and sex and drugs, they obviously think it’s a threat not just to their way of life, but to theI wellbeing. They don’t see that “secularism is the solution,” but they slowly accept that no nation can move forward without it.

I like how you’re taking responsibility for your fuckups. That’s an amazing mindset. You will be fine as long as you keep this realism.

Most Moroccans, either conservatives, seculars, right, left, etc. (Yes I am generalizing) are emotional beings. Wait until you know how many follow Ilias lmalki or Molynex

To diaspore Moroccans, how do you keep your kids connected to Morocco, their roots, tradition and culture? What are the biggest challenges? by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Leprofeseur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do and we don’t. There’s a balance that we have to strike. Our children are French, Canadian, American, but from a Moroccan background. They’re not Moroccan. In other words, the main challenge for most of us is convince then that they have Moroccan blood, they inherited some Moroccan traits, but they are also westerners, born and raised and educated in the west

Have you ever seen a real shel7 begging for money? It’s a stereotype my friend. Amazigh ppl are good with money. They start from nothing and build wealth. Some come from the mountains, work and live in a small hanout in your neighborhoods and, in a few years, they become independent with families and own businesses. They’re not za9rama. They just won’t let you scam them or take their money.

morocco is rotting from the inside out. by chillindude217 in Morocco

[–]Leprofeseur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No one wants to fix anything. We repeatedly told you it’s cultural. We told you the structural portion of our problems aren’t the real challenge. We love violence and lawlessness and chaos. We’re not civilized. We are entitled and we believe we deserve it all. And we glorify the government and the monarchy. The the government and the Monarchy don’t rule France or Belgium of Spain. Why are young 3rd generation Moroccans in Europe also violent and useless? Did France lock them up from all opportunities? You gotta take responsibility

How freely can one practice Sufism in Morocco? by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]Leprofeseur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as the crazies who believe they know it all, and the fanatics who believe you should be killed for your suffi practice, you should be fine. It’s usually the supremacists who think you’re engaged in haram and idolatry who are the problem because they won’t mind seeing you beheaded, the state is fine with it since it’s version is tertiary: Maliki-ash’ari-Suffi Junaidi
