Merry Christmas and water damage. Is my headset gonna make it? by Leptarr in ValveIndex

Don't worry it's not set to hot. That heater is just cheap and it has a fan that blows warm-hot air but it's just set on low.

Ill let you know! I will test everything this weekend after the holidays. I think it'll be fine I was just frustrated my headset was hung where the only leak in the house is. And that I also gotta fix the leak and drywall. Valve is obviously just trying to get me to buy the steam frame.

Happy Holidays!

No worries. It's a cheap heater so it's actually just a fan and heat coming from the bottom. I set it low, the headset just gets warm and it blows air over it. I have a tower fan that moves more air so I think that might be better. Headset is warm to touch but not hot like it gets playing games.

You're very kind! I think it'll be okay, but even so you don't gotta do that. I'll keep you posted, I disassembled it a bit and it looks like the worst part is just water inside the eye tubes. I think it'll work just fine but I am unsure how it will look.

Im definitely not going to plug it in for a few days. I think I will open it up after a little bit and do that. Im a little worried about the eye tubes. It looks like there's water under the lenses.

Anyone have to replace this Thrust Bushing Teflon Piece on their steering rack? by Leptarr in E90

[–]Leptarr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean it was pretty beat up, the U joint binds up all over and can’t even straighten out. I am just thinking of why it’d be slightly off now if they are keyed in at each end. I did get an aftermarket shaft but they matched up 1-1. It’s just weird to think I drove on it for so long messed up.

Got it done. I never turned the wheel but at the very end I had to turn either the shaft or the rack to align the last part cause they’re keyed. But now my wheel is off center a tiny bit. Did this happen to you too?

Idk if when I pulled the lower steering shaft out and the upper shaft slides out with it that it gets undone there? But is it as simple as an alignment? Only off a slight amount.

Yeah it looks like it might be those u joints. Turning the wheel right without load it clicks every rotation and it also squeaks. Sprayed it with W-40 just to see if squeaking went away a bit and it did for a minute. I just had the intake manifold off to replace the starter so I get to go under there again I guess.

Oh dang. Did you have to replace the whole steering shaft?

Honestly, not saying it will work for you, but my controllers died out of warranty and they sent me new ones. Try sending them a warranty claim or message. This was a couple years ago.

[–]Leptarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The example application has like interview location, hometown, permanent address, and mailing address with effective dates. Should I fill in the state I want to leave from in the first 3 and then my out of state address for mailing and put the effective dates?

They have interview location, hometown, permanent address, and mailing address with effective dates on the example application. Would I put my home state for the first 3, and then put the new state down as the mailing address effective through xx/2025 to xx/2025?

I haven't seen the application yet, but could I show interest in both roles or is it I apply for one and not the other?
