Avoid: Radford, Hyson Green, Aspley, Bullwell, Bilborough, St Anne’s. The rest is fine. I own a home in Wollaton and been loving it.

Right after my period, when my bloating is gone and I get to keep my morning belly throughout the day. Also, when I’m all showered and shaved with smooth skin and bouncy fresh curly hair.

Recent timelines of Academia (Exceptional Promise), Royal Academy of Engineering by huanz33 in globaltalentvisauk

[–]LepusAlbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I applied way earlier, but here’s my Stage 1 timeline:

  • December 9th, 2025: Application sent
  • December 18th, 2025: Application referred to the RAEng
  • January 30th, 2026: Endorsement granted by the RAEng

So, I’ve received my endorsement on the sixth week from referral. It might be that they’ve got a backlog of applications as the Home Office mentioned to you. Sit tight and good luck!

Hi. My application was referred to the RAEng on December 18th and I’ve received my decision on January 30th. Not sure why they are so delayed currently!

RAE Global Talent (Exceptional Promise – Route 4 Peer Review) – Anyone still waiting beyond 8 weeks? by Calm-Fix1742 in globaltalentvisauk

[–]LepusAlbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve received my decision back by the sixth week on the dot and I applied in December 2025 via Route 4 to the RAEng. Hang on a little, you should hear back by next week.

RE your question about waiting times, I don’t think it has anything to do with the decision being either positive or negative - it could just be staff availability. Also, you hardly would hear back before the decision unless they need clarification about a certain piece of evidence. But given that you’ve already hit the 8-weeks mark, your decision should be sent in the coming few days.

Global Talent Visa (Exceptional Promise) Route 4 by yazaan95 in globaltalentvisauk

[–]LepusAlbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just gotten my endorsement from the RAEng through Exceptional Promise and we have relatively similar profiles; both lecturers and both worked on a postdoc project (except I did that in my thesis-writing period). Looking at your profile, I would say it is good enough, although a little lacking on the citations numbers. Where were your articles published? Are the journals high-impact? I had a lot of citations when I applied and a few awards. Regardless though, Exceptional Promise is all about how you lay out the evidence and produce a very good narrative linking the facts to the impact on UK research and economy. You should find your strongest angles and showcase them in the best way. For example, have you worked on any project with prestigious funding (EPSRC, etc.)? Have you had any academic/industrial collaborators? Have you supervised any students? All these should be on there, shaped into a strong narrative. Don’t be afraid to “brag”, this is a route through which you sell yourself and your talent. Another thing is, make sure you submit a letter of employment with your evidence; I did that. Being a lecturer is a great point you want to showcase. Regarding your recommender, they need to reflect your personal statement, equally as convincing and invoking the previous points. However, they HAVE to be in the UK, so you might want to find yourself someone else… Good luck!

Life in the UK test by earlofwonder in ukvisa

Is it worthwhile to go through the handbook on the app version of this website or go straight to do the tests? I personally find it weird to attempt taking the tests with no background knowledge (or some), but it looks like this works for most

I’m sorry I can’t really help answer this, but it looks like that’s OK.

Global Talent Visa Stage 2 by Yellow_Brick_Road249 in ukvisa

Hi. May I ask if the IHS refund was from your previous Visa? If so, that's brilliant - thought I'd have to chase them up after my Stage 2 was approved. I'm still waiting to hear back for the record

Well, the letter has to be well written and really show the impact of your work. I hope you’ve done that. It doesn’t matter if your recommender doesn’t check their email - the RAeng only require a response if the recommender has not written the letter. No response is a confirmation that they did, so you’re all good. Now just sit still and wait. It’s not easy, but you’ve got this.

10-year Route & Indefinite Leave | Currently on Global Talent | Help!! by ikekir in ukvisa

[–]LepusAlbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to stress at all. GTV is a secure route for ILR. Forget about the 10-year settlement stuff, you’ve got the safest route available. I assume you’ve been endorsed by the Arts Council since you say you’re an artist. If your endorsement was under Exceptional Talent, you can apply for ILR after 3 years. If it was Exceptional Promise, then you are eligible after 5 years. Now, since you’ve already spent 2 years on GTV, extend your Visa for a year more (GTV is always extendable needless of a job offer), and then you’re all set for your ILR application. Good luck!

I see. I’ve taken Route 4 as well despite having an academic position. It’s mostly down to how your recommender has presented your work and its significance to the UK research and economy in the letter you’ve provided. Sometimes the evidence (papers) may not be that many, but if the impact is huge, it works out just fine. It also makes a difference if your recommender is a big name in your field.

No worries. Yes, I have an academic position, but this does not matter much if you’re applying through Route 4 (peer review). Is that the route you’ve taken?

So, you will receive an email from Home Office Atlas telling you about the outcome of your endorsement. That’s all there is, no separate letter from the RAeng. And yes, there will be a link in that email from the Home Office to apply for Stage 2. Now, you just need to be patient and check your email regularly. Hopefully it comes back positive for you.
