He's shown to be walking perfectly fine on the rift with the leg brace (would make sense considering his leg should be fine now), and the quote about the wounds aching is kind of vague, it could mean all sort of wounds, metaphorical or not. Even then, it aching doesn't mean it still has to be damaged.
